Alchemy said:How about you raise first year pay to ohhh say, 30-35k to start? I bet you could fill up some newhire classes easily. If you're not going to offer any hope of an upgrade this decade, you have to offer something ($$$).

In a few cases they've hired right above the Commercial pilot mins lately so they are starting to hit a hard bottom requirement. They will also continue reassigning and junior manning to cover shortages. We have had numerous occurences lately of Captains flying as FO as well.

You can get ORD right out of your class there. It is going pretty junior.maverick24 said:I got an email for an interview the day after I filled out the app, another follow-up email 2 days later, and also a letter in the mail "reminding" me to set up my interview. Anyone know how likely it is to get ORD as a base? If not right away how long to bid into it?
Thanks
Is ORD an all-jet base or do they have props there?siucavflight said:You can get ORD right out of your class there. It is going pretty junior.

DFW CRJ is real short time for a line. right now it is at 4-6 mos. But they are fat and if you go there you will sit a lot longer than that.
ORD CRJ is now back to 2 years for a line as they have drew the lines back down.
Years of reserve? Who would want to go to AE to be a career fo? I just dont get it.

I guess that some people are unable to see the big picture, do you make your career decisions based on what a company is doing right now, or would you rather base them on the signs of what is coming in the future.Years of reserve? Who would want to go to AE to be a career fo? I just dont get it.

Maybe people are finally fed up with the horrible pay, and they have come to the conclusion that its not worth it.
Yeah..
You know it's bad when there's a newhire class with 11 scheduled new hires and only 2 wind up comming.
Even the spikey gel-haired backpack wearing ipod go-getter boys are passing it up.
