Great news. Would you mind if I take a wait-and-see attitude on it?

As for where those new-hires are going to come from, here's my point:

The MBA's will probably have more heart-burn over NWA hiring their cheapest employees than their most experienced ones, insurance company "wishes" notwithstanding.
It's good news actually because then maybe we won't have regional pilots joining for $20,000 when you can join the mainline for $30 then $60+ after getting your ComMEL.

Wait till feb of 07 XJT may have some pilots to fill the shortage of the other companies....

Flamebait...

I'll buy all of Flightinfo a round the day that Northwest Airlines hires their first narrowbody FO under 1500tt. Write it down - it ain't gonna happen.

With the money you save NOT paying this bet, perhaps you could buy YPF a clue.

Back to the original topic of the schedule.. something goofy is going on with Eagle screening.. I've got 1100 TT, 100+ multi... and actually am a good pilot.. and Eagle bounced my airlineapps in less than one day with a we have more qualified applicants at this time email.. then I see something like this...

weird..

cale

WTF? Eagle doesnt need pilots. If they really did they wouldnt pay sh*t for seven years with no signs of any career progression.

As for the dude with 1000tt and 100multi of course they dont want you....you have way to much time....you'll bail in 6-10 months.

They want guys with 400 hours and a crj type because those kids are dumb enough to pay for a type so maybe they are dumb enough to stay at Eagle for a thousand or two hours until they can move on.

So the revolving door continues

How about you raise first year pay to ohhh say, 30-35k to start? I bet you could fill up some newhire classes easily. If you're not going to offer any hope of an upgrade this decade, you have to offer something ($$$).

I sent them the idea of hiring people with 121 experience at second year pay... but they said they didn't need to.

Actually, when we start hiring at NWA we are going to have to pull the regional FO's and some new pilots out of flight schools. Since the insurance companies will not allow us to drain the regionals of experienced pilots leaving only low time captains and no-time FO's.

Woohoohoo. Thanks for the laugh.

Also, didn't your pilots agree to 50 percent deadhead pay? If so, that makes me want to puke. Struggle all the way to make it to a major, then get stuck in the middle aisle for 5 hours at half pay. Brilliant.

Although rare we have had some pilots start out at an extremely low amount of time. It was either usually political or nepotism. So can I have my drink now?

You guys are not going to belive anything this drunken NWA management bunny says do you ?

He's been crapping in the same executive toilet as the rest of the NWA management liars, cheats and crooks have been and thus has no credibility.

That would be nice. Sadly, they will just keep lowering mins. In a few cases they've hired right above the Commercial pilot mins lately so they are starting to hit a hard bottom requirement. They will also continue reassigning and junior manning to cover shortages. We have had numerous occurences lately of Captains flying as FO as well.

Are you serious?

Weird, an earlier poster claims that they were told they weren't competitive enough with just over 1000/100.

I got an email for an interview the day after I filled out the app, another follow-up email 2 days later, and also a letter in the mail "reminding" me to set up my interview. Anyone know how likely it is to get ORD as a base? If not right away how long to bid into it?

Thanks

Nope, because past results are not indicative of future performance, and I said they "won't hire", not "they've never hired".

If you prove me wrong, I'll buy you your beverage of choice to your heart's content...but my gut feeling tells me my wallet is safe.

You can get ORD right out of your class there. It is going pretty junior.
