Was in AMS last week....practically every A330 guy I ran into was on a green slip. It seems we are short in that category, which might hasten the purchase of another 330 sim because 1 just aint cutting it.

Now that all the chips are falling in to place, we have too many options and not enough resources. That seems to be a good place right now.

That supposedly has already happened, at least that's the rumor du jour.

If your talking about the 2nd sim.....the one from manchester....its here. Sim tech neighbor said its up and running.

How many Delta new-hires will be minorities or "under-represented" groups?

Does it matter?

DAL hires qualified pilots. It has always been my impression that they do not care what the person looks like or what category they fit in to. If they meet they criteria then the person gets hired.

Thinking of that sex change? :)

Nah...too expensive.

But a $6,000 legal name-change to "Rodriguez" is guaranteed to work. There's a guy at FedEx who got in that way.

No worries about hiding it.....it's ILLEGAL for a company to ask "where you from?", or say something like "you don't look like a 'Rodriguez'".

..then the Reality show: "Rosenberg-->Rodriguez: Delta Pilot!" Big bucks!

"So, do you have any Irish in you? No? Would you like some?"

You sound like one of "those people."

You might remember years ago when UAL was going on its minority hiring craze, DAL just paid the fine by not meeting EEOC requirements so they could continue to hire the most qualified pilots.

Programs like this let the airlines identify talent and then make sure it is funneled to their airline. It is smart. We have a few pilots here at DAL that did this program the first time. They even got the honor of doing 73N types with the FAA giving the type. I can easily say that they are more than qualified.

Quit the banter. You want to get noticed, find a way to shine.

...and a UAL 747-400, weighing almost a million pounds, took off for Sydney and nearly crashed at SFO because one of those hiring-binge gems couldn't handle a real-life engine-out...
