I was just curious if this DL pilot was an on duty FFDO. Don't think thats supposed to be a secret. Is it?

Often times the local-yocal cops, even the ATL airport types, have wet dreams over this kind of 'bust.' Maybe the arresting officer didn't know or give the pilot a chance to identify himself as an FFDO.

Boiler Up hit the nail on the head. I know of another person this happened to. There are many others who have carried a pocket knife (happened to me, figured it out before I hit the metal detector), ammo, etc, and gotten busted with it. Unfortunately I don't think there will be "no harm, no foul". Hopefully there's a few avid shooters in the Delta offices that will understand.

Ummmm. Just to let you know there are thousands of us who travel on hunts that bring guns to the airport. I'm sure you knew that and your knee jerk poorly thought out response didn't leave you time to think. Just a mistake or omission on your part. No worries.
