As far as DAL support I was involved in comparing the prestrike and strike scheds at DAL. WoW it was great the DAL Brothers helped us by increaseing size and frequency to almost all CMR cities that was possible. We called them on it and they said basicly "SO".

This is exactly what they did to Eastern.

FlyDeltasJets, Im sure your position as to what happened is different than mine. I can only say what I saw. Iwas in the strike center for weeks before and 10 hour days during the whole vacation. I am not person who just said "I herd from this guy who had friend that was there" I was part of the team and spent many days and hours going over crap that lasted in a meeting with DALPA for 10 minutes. I think you have new MEC from the one previos I hope they represent you and ALPA pilots on all three fences well. But DONT think that ASA or CMR will not do the same to you if you strike after all your group set the precident. Not trying to fight just givivng you all a heads up. I had much rather set back and watch and hope for the best, what ever that is.

FDJ,

You call OneList a "pipedream" and something that, "management would never agree to," but then contradict yourself in the very next sentence by saying, "Come to us with a prenup staple agreement, I'm sure the reception would be better."

Huh? What would the point of a prenup be if, as you claim, "management" would never EVER sign off on it?

How do you know this if it has never been tried? Has there never been a merging of pilot seniority lists after an acquisition in airline history?

In this era of unprecedented airline deals, I would think just about anything is negotiable ... if you want it, that is.

Im not going to choose side here, Ive got friends on both sides of this issue so Ill just try to stick to my point. I cant believe how we (pilots) are breaking each other down and working aginst eachother. Its caos... This is my OPINION on the issue...

It seems fairly obvious to me that if DAL Inc (as a whole company, not mainline or subsidiaries) is having financial hardships, that a reduction in all salaries (pilots, FA, Ground Crew, Mech, Secratarys, CEO, you name it) would be appropriate to save the most money. This fits into the argument that the Airline as a whole is in trouble and everyone needs to chip in. As I see this, DAL Inc is only asking its pilots to take a pay cut which goes to the core of what Management has been trying to do for years, Pay us less, pit us against each other, and guess what, their winning...

I hope everyone out there with wings on your shirt can see this, Regional, Major, Military, Civ, what ever. The issue is not who should or should not have to pitch in, but why is it that only the pilots money will help DAL get ahead??? Is DAL trying to save money and get out of financial ruin or is it trying to cut its Pilots salaries and let everyone else off the hook????? Yes, DAL Pilots make a lot of money, a lot of people at DAL make a lot of money. Is Pilot salaries the only reason the airline is in trouble??? I dont think so...

Just my 2 cents

Fly,

You should notice that I said the "reception" would be better, not the results. I don't see a contradiction.

I think onelist is a good idea. I don't think it has a snowball's chance of working. I think it is doomed without the support of the Delta pilots. The Delta pilots will (rightfully) not support it without assurances that their seniority isn't at risk. The DCI pilots have not provided such assurances.

My conclusion is the onelist is highly unlikely. Without a staple, it moves from unlikely into the realm of the impossible.

BigBrownDC8, yup being up all night and drinking lots of coffee does help one see the big picture. While I have my views on the whole goat-rope at DAL Holdings I agree that in the end wippsaw is the name of the game.
