Delta guys don't owe anyone a jumpseat, but most are eager to have a friend along for the ride to share stories with. You Comair pilots have done a lot to offend everyone in Delta service.

Put this one in the record books! I can't believe I'm about to say this.
Fins, I agree completely with you!

wow that hurt!

mdp727,

It also amazes me how many wicked cool people there are in this biz! Like I said, only once in 13 years of commuting has a pilot gone out of his way to be an a$$ to me. That ain't a bad ratio.

I'd rather waste sick time calling-in commuting than put up with these peoples bull. Honestly, screw them. Be the better person. Call scheduling, call in sick, and leave. If you can't get to work because someone in the same career field is being a complete [fill in whatever you like], then go home and cheer up with your family. Yes, it is not right to abuse sick time. But if I met Mr. TG trying to commute, I'd puke myself and have an honest reason for sick time usage.

A plus,

Le Pilote

Dave,

Semper is right...press on. There are a few of these folks in every crowd. Sorry you had to encounter one at DL ( although, calling the JS co-ord is a good idea ).

Whatever is driving this guy has nothing to do with you or Comair, but you know that already. Keep riding the DL jumpseat as this will likely never happen to you again.

In the process of mistreating you, if the guy raised his voice, he'll likely have embarrassed the company as well. The MD80 cockpit is like a megaphone that blasts all sounds ( even CAWS warnings with the door closed ) back through first class.

I guess no one wins in this deal, huh.

Got to agree with my BAFAN brother. Understand (not excuse!) that many pilots are trying to explain their incredible set backs. (ie DAL paycut) It seems some DAL guys are taking it out on Comair. In another thread the UAL/jetblue guys are one itchy trigger finger away from full scale global thermal nuclear jumpseat war.

Guys, don't be reactionary. Have just a little bit of compassion and understanding for jackas$ Captains that are venting....use reason and logic to maintain your request.

The Independence Air guys were getting some UAL flak becuase of the Indy managements decision to seperate from UAL. When the UAL guys would say "You're jumpseating and you're from Indy air? You guys are nuts for trying to seperate from us" The reverse physco reply was "You know Capt, there are still some UAL loyalist at INDY." The Capt would then welcome you on his jumpseat like a long lost son. Worked everytime.

If you are from CMR and jumpseating on DAL and the Capt says, I hate Comair. The reply is.. I hate F-ing Comair too. I can't wait to ditch that DLC biotch.:D There is no way he's smart enough to know you are messing with him......

Before you get your thong in a wad....does it really matter?
