Hmmm, I'm looking around, and I can't seem to find a DAL rate for 100 seaters.

Oh, that's right, it's ZERO, because you gave all your 100 seat flying away. I seem to recall that DAL took win, place and show at the great flying give-a-way that they started in 1993.

Nu

You must have missed our really crappy Jet Blue type rates on the E-190. You're right, Delta sold the farm on scope but didn't NWA open the door in a big way with 85 seat Avro's? Scope at DL flew out to the desert with our DC-9s 15 years ago but the limit stands and will stand at 36, no 50, no 70, no 76 seats ......that is, until we move the limit.

We have E190 rates, E195 rates, and CR9 rates for mainline(anything over 76 seats for that CR9 has to be mainline).

BTW, have you studied how to read SID/STARs again? Coming off the E145 and going to the DC9 will be a rude awakening. Review looking at maps and reading those SID/STARs. No more magic box.

Bye Bye--General Lee

I wasn't talking about the payrates i was agreeing with DAL selling the farm on scope issue. Come on GL your falling behind, must be that old age :)

As far as the sid/stars go, thanks for the flight instructing tips there boss, what would i do without you?

"Magic Box"?? General Lee are you talking about what i think you are talking about? I assure you that there is still magic box to be had ;)

Carry on

Negative. Try again. The AVRO's were configured at 69 seats, 2 class, thanks to the NWAALPA Scope clause at the time.

Is this the regionals forum? Guys arguing over which airplane has the fancier avionics? Really?

I wasnt talking about avionics, i was discussing the real "magic box";) the general was talking avionics, but thats the GL for you

I'm not in the know, so maybe someone could discuss US Airways/AWA allowing Mesa to fly 86-seat CRJ-900's. Where does US Airways stand in the finger-point-a-thon?

Hi!

Gen Lee: The current NWA plan (I've only heard it 2nd hand) is to buy the Bombardier "C" aircraft to replace the -9, starting in 2012. It is a 110-150 seat-class airplane, so it is BIGGER than the -9.

Boeing wants NWA to wait, and hold out for their 100-150 seat-class airplane, which won't come out as soon at the "C".

The "C" was approved for production by Bombardier's board about 2 weeks ago. The engines are much more efficient than the most efficient airline engines flying today. They are a Pratt & Whitney "Geared Turbofan" engine.

PS-You DO have some good information and ideas. It would be easier to read them, however, if you didn't try and piss people off on purpose with some of your posts.

Thanks for the info cliff. You have to remember, I enjoy the banter here, and if everyone actually took this site seriously, there would be a lot of tears shed. I enjoy it, and I don't take it personally.

I can attest to this information as i specifically asked the DC9 fleet manager about what was in the works. He said he has already flown the sim and that he felt that would be the replacement but as with anything it can change at the drop of a hat. He said on paper, that the 9 could fly for another 20 years if it was updated and mgmt chose that option over buying new planes but that the 9 will be around until that decision is made.FWIW

Problem is that if NWA waits too long to decide and place an order, the delivery may be pushed back as others may jump in line (Lufthansa?) Also, Boeing seems to have its hands full with the 787 development. Maybe they are waiting for any potential merger to finally fall apart.

The GTF would be a nice way to build a budget MD90. The engine weighs less than the IAE v2500 and would be a nice fit for the several thousand DC9 derivatives at American, Delta, NWA....

These airplane might get a second lease on life, like the DC8 did.

Hi!

I was also wondering about putting a small version of a GTF engine on a Falcon 20?
