Best part about working at Compass: you get a good shot at working for a major down the line if you have the experience and you are so inclined. Wish I had that deal...

I have been at Compass 2 years. DTW based. Generally, it is not to bad. Pay and work rules are all "industry standard". Things will be interesting with the flow ups. We will lose about 83 pilots to Delta this hiring round and more if Delta hires more. Good airplanes, generally good routes. Schedules all over the map due to PBS. Reserve rules are not very good. We will be doing lots of flying out of MSP and ORD in the near future plus DTW and ATL. Basically flying Mainline A/C to Mainline stations at crap wages. Hope this helps.

Make sure you have all ATP mins to apply.

Any chance at an ATL base in the future?

What are the downsides of the reserve rules?

11 days off per month
At least one block of four days off per month
No fewer than two days off between reserve blocks
Reserve blocks between three and six days
Reserve leveling system: one day trip goes to low time pilot with one day of Reserve left, two day trip goes to low time pilot with two days of reserve left, etc.
AM ready reserve goes to low time one day pilot, PM ready reserve goes to low time two day pilot
Open time is available to line holders until 12:00C the day prior to the assignment
Reserve assignments are made the day prior to your duty. Scheduling calls you sometime the day before your first day of reserve with your assignment for the next day (supposed to be before noon, but that hasn't been happening)
The reserve list is available online so you can track who's getting called and see who is available...keeps scheduling honest (we have a few 'creative' schedulers)
