Pilots will always make mistakes, but you have to consider everything before pointing the finger at one person.

I'm done with CNN, Fox News, and the likes. I'm getting my news from PBS from now on. This is ridiculous.

Someone else has seen the light. Tired of Mark Karr (sp?), Michael Jackson, Sandra Levi, Natalie Holloway, of statistics about the safety of flying vs driving (or showering) being ignored? Tired of talking heads spewing non-sequitor political bumper-sticker logic at each other?

If kevdog would have been into LEX, he'd have known that the "26" numbers are actually painted behind the point where an aircraft would have turned.

Also, we get into the wrong airplane all the time, because thats what ramp tells us to get into. The only official way we know which is the correct aircraft is when the release arrives, which may not happen until 5-minutes prior to departure.

The pilots didn't follow the 10-9, didn't realize they turned onto the wrong runway, didn't notice the wrong runway numbers, didn't notice the wrong runway markings, didn't notice there wasn't any runway lighting, and killed a bunch of passengers. Must not have been their day if they knew what they were doing.

Guess you didn't pay attention and hear that the Jepp 10-9 chart did not match what existed on the ground in LEX that day; missed that most of the associated lighting with runway 22 was inop due to recent construction (including distance remaining signage); missed that the runway edge lighting WAS operating for runway 26 that day; you missed that runway 26 is in fact really 150' wide like 22; missed that when you are on runway 22, because of the rise at the center part of the airport, you cannot see the other end of the runway, so it actually looks like a 3500' runway; missed that the controller wasn't watching the aircraft; and you missed that you are an a$$hole for posting such $hit.

I guess you missed a lot of people lost their lives because of gross pilot error. The airport should have just been closed that day for all the reasons you posted above.
