Then almost all regional pilots are scabs as we are/were flying routes that were once flown by mainline planes while those pilots were furloughed.

That is why I can't get on board with the RJDC. They were pissed about scope and saying it restricts their job opportunities while Delta was furloughing. They wanted bigger airplanes that would have resulted in more furloughs from the majors.

Now they are bent that we are shrinking and mainline may add bigger aircraft, thus creating more mainline jobs. Even though they could apply for the higher paying jobs.

Unless this guy AF, is completely insane. He has to have some kind of source where he got all these accusations of what's going to happen...NWA flowback to Comair, Compass and MEsaba.
His memo was pretty big and detailed. Not just something you can lie about and continue to show your face at work every day.

I have a copy of it....It is NWA LOA 2006-10 and it was included in the new DAL JPWA....It is an Adobe document so I can't cut and paste it.....If anyone wants a copy, you can PM with an email address and I will send you a copy.

On Oct. 24, RJDC sent ALPA a letter requesting clarification on whether or not it includes ASA or CMR....There has been no response from ALPA...I have a copy of that letter too if anyone wants it....

What way would you prefer my "good points" to be made? I'm not a politician....I don't sugar coat things or tell people what they want to hear.....

Regional flying was created when mainline pilots said they were too good to fly those little airplanes. So nice try on regionals being scabs to begin with. I am pretty sure you have more to worry about at mainline on unemployment then I do at Comair. Your days are numbered without having a problem in todays environement. We aren't scabs (I'm a comair pilot), I was pointing out how stupid it was to call a furloughed mainline pilot a scab for flowing back into growth aircraft at a regional while there are furloughs at that regional.

In my opinion we have people that are just looking out for themselves and they don't care who they have to step on to do it.

Wow talk about ignorance. Ever stop and think that while the current TA for MAG is poor that they are fighting hard this go round and many are going to vote no? The pilots are fighting for what's right and aren't just going to settle for a pathetic PBS offer that watery at best. Perhaps you forgot that the pilots won in the long run to prevent JO from using Freedom as a whipsaw and gaining one seniority list...which is something that those at another regional weren't able to do. It's very unfortunate. But people seem to forget that.

Mesa pilots signed the last crappy contract to capture scope, if they didn't then Mesa would have renamed every aircraft "Operated By Freedom Airlines". Ask Trans States about not capturing scope and stopping GOJets is working for them now.

GoJet and Freedom were both direct results of mainline scope clauses....They were exploited by managment....but created by ALPA/APA....

I agree, America West at the time Freedom was started did not have a scope clause to keep JO from flying 700-900s for them, so he took Freedom and started running with it as far as he could before he was stopped only because he opened his big mouth during negotiations and the pilots captured that scope and stopped Freedom from being a non union carrier, but in turn signed the same crappy contract with the exception of Freedom being under ALPA.

Personally, I hate your routes. I'm sick of sitting in the airplane for 3-4 hour legs. We shouldn't be doing anything more than 60 minutes. But thanks to you guys, who were too good for RJ, we're doing your work.

Who caved?
The planes aren't a waste. They built the regionals to what they are today because the mainline guys didn't want them.
Again, we should be flying props, not jets.
The 70/90 is just a stretched CRJ...it's just an RJ.
