Terrific. Cant WAIT until we fly together now.
If i'm not there it's because I got (cough cough) "sick".
Yeah, I'm going to work it into the brief just prior to: ... and in accordance with the Ops manual, where's your GD hat?

Yeah, you're probably one of those guys that said they saw CRM problems with bringing DAL pilots on board. Sure looks like you promote a whole lot of CRM in the cockpit. I hope you're just kidding. Talk to me like that and you will by flying by yourself. And I am sure the company won't give me any slack, you probably have a file 12" thick. Did you ever think the only reason you keep flying with new guys is because the ones that have been around a while don't have to take your smack?

DD:

Everything's cool man. Deep breaths. In. Out. That's it. Feel better?

A couple people are just joking around. No big deal. Now don't be scarin' the newbies. Be cool. We all understand that you got the CRM stuff under control. It was abundantly evident in your last post to 64J.

To everyone else:

No worries. I've flown with nearly all of the captains who post here. They're all great.

"I interviewed in June and am now in the pool. Based on all prior posts I'm thinking 6 months in the pool, does that sound about right?"

That depends on whether they keep having classes. If they have one every month, it could be 3-5 months. The December and February guys had it the worst because they didn't have classes for a while.

I don't think you can just go by interview date. I interviewed in December and was in the March 1st class. There are still people from December that haven't gotten the call, but some from Feb are in class now...

I haven't heard an Oz story. I'm talking about Captain Mike S. This legend of new hire heaven predates Oz.
Contrary to popular believe, Oz would never fire a pilot for that. Don't believe all you hear. I've seen Oz in uniform only a handful of times, but he is always in uniform on December 25, to give a line-pilot the day off.

Mike S., on the other hand... :)

No, wasn't me. I believe that myth was a wedge issue hatched by management. It was readily accepted and broadcast by gullible Delta pilots in their Comair bashing orgy and really had very little to do with what Comair pilots think.

Now that you've mentioned it, I've never seen a Delta pilot without his hat. It's Delta policy, it is expected of everyone and everyone complies. I don't know, maybe they take pride in the company image they project to the public.

But that's beside the point. There is no CRM in uniform policy.
