Wow pretty shocking. You don't expect these kind of freak accidents especially from operations like UPS and with brand new airplanes. RIP to the pilots.

When the cargo is on fire, new planes burn as fast as old ones. RIP

We all expect to be able to handle any emergency. This may prove again that there are ones out there you just can't. Very sad.

PPRUNe has more info where by the way they already diagnosed and solved the problem with recommendations to Boeing. Unbelievable that place.

Sounds absolutely horrifying to me. After thousands of hours, my gut would sink at the slightest smell of smoke, or something odd. A worst nightmare I can't imagine. Something I could never overcome was that one event where no matter how "good" you are, how brave, how well trained, you would not succeed. A sad day. God Bless them.
