You realize those are canadian dollars don't you? Anyone?
I say take your azz back to Canada and get out of my country and save OUR jobs for OUR people. If it is tough in Canada oh well. We have it tough here too and we lose too many jobs to foreigners!Just looking at the pay doesnt tell the entire story in Canada. Do you ever wonder why you see so many Canadians at the regionals in the States? (Including myself). To get onto Jazz isnt easy and you have to come into it with previous turbine time which you most likely got up north somewhere tossing bags, doing your own flight planning, scraping ice off the wings, fueling, etc all while being paid $20/hr and staying in ratty hotels in the middle of nowhere! Oh and as previously mentioned that $20/hr is taxed and the cost of food up north isnt cheap.
There is one school "seneca college" that sends a couple grads directly into Jazz but they arent able to upgrade until they have 250PIC (ICAO) not to mention Jazz upgrade times are extremely long at Jazz to begin with...Oh and dont forget they have to sign a contract.
So for someone like myself to come down and fly for the regionals in the states is a much better oppourtunity because by the time the people I have graduated with can even consider Jazz I will already be making captain pay and getting taxed less!
As for Air Canada mins they are posted at 1000TT but realistically arent even close to that. Everybody who gets into aviation in Canada has an end goal of going to Air Canada...so there is alot of competition. Going back to Canada with some jet/glass cockpit time should help me out but definately wont get me on at 1000TT.
Do you now anything? Have any idea how many flapper heads come to the US for medical care? Why are doctors efficient here? Because the more patients they see the more they get paid. Go to Canada and prepare to sit there all day long. Much more than here. It goes north to south. Canada the longest wait, US less wait, Mexico almost no wait. Put someone on salary and they don't care how many patients they see. I've lived in Mexico and the US and spent considerable time in Canada. You don't want their crap. There's a reason the best hospitals in the world are in the US. Plus how can you admire a country that couldn't defend itself?

One problem with Canada, they would not allow me to register my GTO there. I dont like the place because of it.
Yes the Holden is a beautiful car, and I do like it with out the hood scoops. However on the GTO they split the exhaust and it makes the back end look better.Comes from the locally made monaro. Beautiful car... you should see it wihout the hood scoops.
Guess they don't make it anymore?
Why would I cringe?
These people have to live in the socialists republic of Canada. Do you know how much of that pay will be going towards taxes?
That's still a temporary setback. You're arguing what's happened in roughly one year which is very short sighted. Generally speaking 1 US = 1.4-1.7CAD. At the bottom of our economy we are only equaling theirs.
Why not a flat tax? Why should the rich have to pay a larger percentage of their pay? That does not seem fair to me.Ha ha. I'll tell exactly how much.
In the Socialist Republic of Canada, people who make less than $60,000 pay LESS in taxes than in the U.S. That's because Canadian taxes are more heavily weighed towards the wealthy.
Thanks to George W. Bush, people in the U.S. with lower-to-middle incomes, like, oh say RJ pilots, have had their taxes go up, while people making $120,000 have had their taxes go down. Thanks, GW.
Know your facts.
Kanadian Bier is a hole lot mo better than amercican beer........ urrrppppp...... bouyyyyyyyyy.......Not just the taxes, everything seems more expensive in Canada. The price of beer alone justifies the higher pay.
