Did he call you Cactus by accident? lol
Hey guys they cut us breaks all the time. We should do the same. Hopefully it will someday become taboo to rat each other out....
FYI. I do not have to give out my initials on the frequency.
If you have a problem, make a note of the frequency and the date/time. When you get on the ground, call the facility (FSS can give you the phone numbers, or if you're at the airport associated with the facility, the ramp tower usually has the number). Then call on the telephone and ask for a supervisor. Remember a calm and professional telephone call will go a lot farther than an upset caller. Give the freq and time to the supe - this will allow them to listen (later) to the tape and do what we call a QAR (Quality Assurance Review). They know who the controller is b/c we all must sign onto a position while we are responsible for it. Asking for initials will do nothing but (unfortnately, human nature) cause you more grief with this person. Be polite and professional on the freq, just b/c the controller may be inappropriate, does not give you license to do the same. Remember these tapes can also work against or for your cause when listened to.
the original post was perfect for flaming........we can do better than this........
There was a Gulfstream with an American crew that bagged it into a mountainside some years ago because the controller spoke very poor English. Does anyone remember where that was? I remember a video from training about that.
Damn.... All the good stuff's been said!![]()
...I say find his/her mom and eff her. Best way to get back at someone. Now where on TV did I see this??
ok fine it was a gay question - now flame on
move along - there is nothing to see here

I think you are referring to the Conoco G-II that crashed in the mountains near Kota Kinabalu back in September 1991. An old boss of mine was on board that plane.
Is that the one in which the Captain said something to the effect of "I don't like this, let's get out of here"? They initiated a climb and then impacted the terrain. If that was it or not, it was sad listening to the actual CVR. The accident I'm thinking of was one in which they were just shy of out-climbing the terrain.
