If the activities of man are the sole cause of the average temperature rise of the Earth, why is the average temperature of Mars also rising?
Max
I agree that there is global warming to the tune of 1 deg c over a 100 years. As I stated before, making the jump to the conclusion that man caused it is what makes me wary of the hysteria. I mentioned the last ice age, and that it warmed up afterward, which makes me think that we may be a little arrogant about our impact on the climate. I am skeptical about a theory that says when it is really cold or really hot it is because of global warming. Or if there is more rain, or more droughts, it is because of global warming. I am skeptical of a theory that seems to think that a few degree change over a long period of time ( a hundred years or more) is going to bring catastrophy. The history of Earth is one of violent changes, and wide variation in climate. Somehow life continues.
That in no way means that I support more coal burning power, or think that we should be wasteful. I simply think that the CONCLUSION that man is to blame for the 1 deg c change over the last 100 years is myopic with regard to the history of earth.
You fail to see my logic and attack me because I fly a duchess? I must be a freaking retard because i don't have 6000 hours like you. All those hours flying made you sooo much smarter than me on a completely different subject.
Well put, Bobby B. . . . . and Max, your statement that "the debate over global warming is over" indicates how much you still need to learn . . . . about the subject, and about life.
