I think the board has seen enough from every other unionized airline out there to agree with Jerry and the gang that you all remain seperate. Can't put it any simpler.

What does SWA, UPS, and FDX have in common? And I'm not talking about the fact that they all have multiple unionized employee groups.

You still are not getting it. These decisions go way above union vs non-union. That is all I'm saying.

Usually I am in agreement with XPOO. But not this time. I think SkyWest management has matured way beyond the primitive response of UNION BAD BAD BAD. I believe that management realizes that union contracts are just that...contracts. They have had seven years experience dealing with unions through ASA then ExpressJet. SkyWest can handle that...just like any other major airline.

I believe that there will be a merger between SkyWest and ExpressJet. By diluting a number of militant labor groups with the nonunion labor of SkyWest...INC will be able to negotiate the outcome they wish in the pending labor contracts.

SkyWest has probably grown as much as possible organically....now is the time to grow via merger.

Southwest has already done it several times....and their treasured culture remains intact.

Plus SkyWest will gain enormous savings from departmental consolidation.

Yes, another merger is on the way.....

As long as the Atkin family maintains complete control of the company, its all just a pipe dream. SkyWest Airlines is their baby and they will not allow you to taint what they've spent 40 years creating.

SkyWest Inc. will sell off or shrink ExpressJet long before it is ever merged with SkyWest Airlines. It's been 7 years, and 7 years from now it will still be the same story.

The most brilliant summation of events yet! With the top leadership there, it was nothing more than a fancy way of letting the pilot groups know, on all sides, that we cost too much.

With Skywest Inc. buying up quite a bit of stock, I'm expecting another aquisition and merger. That's what happened last time, just before Inc. bought ExpressJet. Whether it's Pinnicle, Eagle, or someone like Spirit or Virgin America, nobody knows but management. However, something is happening and a plan is in place. Only question is "when" it's going to happen. Spirit or Virgin would explain the 100 seaters we have on the horizon. I believe they are working out "Jet Blue", volume II.
