Relax everybody. The groups were getting together to film their own "This Is My ExpressJet" film series. The deadline is tomorrow.
ASA/XJT and SKYW will not be on one list until the shareholders and BOD agree that is what is best for the company. To them, pilots are the like the 16 year old who wants a new car. They will make you believe it COULD, COULD, happen, but most likely it will not happen for years.
At the end of the day, the shareholders drive the BOD at SKYW INC. The BOD still puts on a good show to the shareholders about how two airlines is best for INC and thus the shareholders. Eventually, enough shareholders are going to ask why INC has not brought everything (2 OCC's, 2 HR Departments, 3, yes 3, training departments, a mulititude of insurance and benefits plans, etc..) under one roof to save cost, or as the execs like to say, create synergies. When Jerry and the rest of BOD can't come up with a good reason anymore, SKYW and ASA/XJT will merge into one. Hell, even members of the BOD are currently questioning why INC has 2 airlines. (Source for that is the pilot, "a friend", who flies that board member around privately.) When only one airline, with one pilot, flight attendant, mechanic, dispatcher, scheduling, management, group exists, it will be the shareholders that make it so....not ALPA and SAPA
And this below is funny
^^^^^my point exactly. One list would only be a byproduct of putting both airlines into one, not the driving force....neither are ALPA or SAPA. I mean come on, every pilot knows ALPA is a joke. So is SAPA....you think the execs of companies do not. Placating the union leaders with words of wonder and that is all that is needed to make the union stay down. If the union gets ballsy.....bankruptcy and cut the balls off.....really not that hard to break and control a union
How much savings a year would "one" airline yeld... 20 mill? Just a guess... But if or magins keep shrinking... They may have too....
I would say "Magnum" RegionalSo if the ASA and Xjet merger created a "Super" Regional, what would adding Skywest create? Mega? Ultra? SureJet?
Could be a way to park the ERJs.
