I was flying once when the fella next to me (the CA) asked if he could eat. I was fine with that and he proceeded to set up his prayer thrown (it was unbelieveable) prior to eating at 30,000 feet. After 5 minutes of praying while I watched with my mouth on the floor - he ate his lunch. If nothing else it was entertaining. It was his thing - who was I to give a hoot. I suspect that you're the closed minded type (no, I'm not a thumper myself). Just relax, say no thanks, and put your energy into something that matters TO YOU. In other words - get over it pal.

I agree with XJHawk on this. There was a guy at my compnay who was a J-Freak, and he would post info about his christian aviation group on our pilot bitch board. Not my thing, so I just ignore the posts.

But, if he went out and sent these messages to everyone on the pilot email list (including me), that's another matter. I wouldn't send everyone an email inviting them to my wiccan gay-lesbiantransgendered alliance peta gatherings, recognizing that not everyone would be interested in such things and that some might be offended. That's all.

I guarentee this isnt the case. Somehow he must have confused XJHawk as someone who would have cared. If this guy would have sent an email for a lunch party with spirits you wouldnt have thought twice, but he mentioned that he wanted to get some christian people together to share fellowship in this hard time. Why would you be so offended to be included on that list?

I am scratching my head at this. Maybe you should show up. It might do you some good. Not that Its any of my business, but it makes me sad.

Like many posters have alluded to, don't take any offense. Life's too short to get offended by well-meaning folks who were only trying to do you what they percieve to be a favor. As long as it's not part of the cockpit environment.

Will anyone else get my contact info if they want to invite me to other such gatherings? FOr those of you telling me to chill out, you are obviously one of those who want religion shoved in thier faces, i am not one of them, and i should not have to politely refuse through my contact information provided to the company or union.....to unsolicited non-company or union functions. Yes, i would politiely refuse if asked in the crew room, i am not a rude or mean person, But if my PRIVATE conact information is being stolen so these people organizing these events can boost their numbers of attendance....thats illegal......and that my frineds is my point enough said...............oh and by the way, i am trying not to worry about all the other crap happening
