I have to ask what is the beef with avantair? Every company has its flaws. To grow as big as it has in the past 2 years, it must not be that bad ? I have flown for the bottom terrible companys in florida,ie sas, bia... and compared to them avantair is heaven. I have seen this web site get people jobs and other good things, use it for that. you all should try only posting information that you took on first hand, not what your friend said who has only worked for a 121 because from my experience younger 121 aviators dont know a thing about corporate and vise versa.

Here's the deal. There are a couple of former employees (one of them a former flight ops manager that quit in disgrace) that are bitter because they felt they didn’t get a fair shake and left the company. They got a fair shake, but chose to believe they were being singled out for no reason. They like to use the board to spread their ill will because nobody else inside the company will give them the right time of day. Most of us in the game know that "pebbles" is either one of them or closely tied to them. Our best guess is that it’s the former manager based on the extreme bitterness. This is evident by the posts, all of the false accusations and "known" information hasn't changed since the time he left in March. They can’t really get new info, because current employees won’t associate with any of them, partly because of their posts on this board but mostly because we enjoy working at Avantair and just get tired of their BS. Avantair is an amazing place to work and yes, there are growing pains. I can tell you though, that this is the place to be right now for to fly in the fractional world. The last six months have seen amazing things happen and it’s only going to get better as the company grows. So, for those of us working at Avantair, there is no beef and we choose to be here because we want to be. If you look at all the negative posters, there are only a specific few and they all have the same twists to them. As I’ve posted before, ignore these folks and look at all the great posts by current employees that work for the company. Those far outweigh the opinions of these select few idiots.
 
Firstly, I don't work for Avantair but here's what I think. Everybody I have talked to really likes it there. They like the airplane, they like the flying and I have never heard any BS about management or maintenance issues. I don't care where you work, or what you fly, there will always be some maintenance issues. These same issues may not be issues to others because we all have different personal limits and different experiences. As far as management is concerned, who cares? A pilot is a pilot. Of course we all think we know more than management and could run the company better and that everybody should listen to us. Well some pilots run their mouths way too much and I don't blame management for not listening sometimes. Guys like Pebbles ruin the common voice of the pilot and this creates a barrier between us and them. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Pebbles feels like he was burned by Avantair somehow and maybe 180puke too. Which, by the level of their professionalism on this board, seems like it was more than likely justified. Anyway, thats my 2 pennies. Flame on!
 
Hi guys, its me, Murf!

Wow…all of this time has gone by...and still my name is being tossed about. Why I’m not sure. I thought the final salvos were fired a long time ago, and I have purposely stayed out of the weekly drama that is Avantair, motivated as much by my desire to simply move on as it was by threatening lawyers, attempted character defamation and ridiculous statements to the FAA (on record with the feds) about my mental stability made by those still in charge. This was an attempt on their part to explain the recent events of the time. I don’t need to go into what was said, those who said it know too well ….and to show just how childish it was, I am again a PIC and a D.O. on a 135 certificate, something that simply would not have been allowed had those statements made to the FAA been remotely true. The reality is that I and the others who were on the certificate were trusted and respected by the administration, something that can’t be said about some others at the company and their track record with the FAA.
I never claimed to be the best D.O. during my time there, but I claim to have tried my best and I worked as hard as I could to keep the company growing…safely! Things like SOPs and accountability in records, following the regs, proper MX procedures…these were the things I focused on, with the help of others who worked as hard as I did. I went to bat for a place I loved, at the request of a CEO that was a good friend, and despite the craziness that has gone on since, I wish those I know the very best. A lot of lives and jobs are on the line.
In short, my conscious is clear, and I know I did what I could for the company, including the pilots flying the line. Those who came to me with issues know this; I know it too. This is why I’m shocked to see that, even now, my name is linked with this constant badgering back and forth between a few people, some of whom ought to know that they have better things to do (like run their company) than waste time on a website for line pilots. Since they are aware that many of you are concerned about the stability of things, they should dispel rumors in a company oriented, professional manner, instead of logging on here under yet another chat name and pushing their loyalty-first slant pretending to be just another pilot. They have more important things to do.
I have no plans to pursue this further on this forum. I saw that my name was being tossed around, I responded to that, and that’s it. I WILL SAY THIS THOUGH …this forum, good or bad, is a place where people should be free to speak their minds, without fear of reprisal. This has happened in the past, I know it, and those who perpetrated it know it. If I do hear of a single person punished for simply writing his opinion, whatever it may be, I WILL let it be known HOW anonymity was breached in the past.
That said, I’m hoping those involved and I have an understanding. Best of luck to the pilots; while you have serious issues to deal with, there IS a lot to look forward to, if things are handled correctly. I wish you all the best.

What is it like to fly for Avantair? How fast is capt upgrade?
