Not quite "feelin' the LUV" anymore. All the mainline cities being droppped or reduced are SWA cities.

And how much service would be dropped if Air Tran got the gates??

ATA management just HAD to drag a profitable commuter down with them, didn't they?

Your point is?. You expected maybe new planes and hiring to happen as a result of this?. Management surely didn't do this intentionally, silly notion.

You are a dip **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**! You act as if ATA existed because of you. You existed because of them. Your company wouldn't have flown anything bigger than a 402 if ATA didn't ALLOW you to. You should be thankful for the good times that were had by all and hope for more to come.

You sound like an ATC guy who has decided the airplanes work for him rather than the other way around. Wake up jackas!

well put...
My thoughts exactly when I read her response, made no sense nor did it have any logic behind it. I guess it is relatively easy to spot the pure emotional responses versus those that have any factual bearing to them.

Sheeeesh - nice support. People are allowed to be a little emotional when their former companies are being downsized or possibly eventually closed down. Cut her some slack... This industry is rough.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Capt Megadeth probably meant that Chicago Express has plenty of potential to be a really great regional, but weren't exactly used to that potential. Now, with ATA sinking, Chicago Express is going too... and won't be able to use the potential they have.

Similar to the potential ATA had to be a top airline, but sadly the company was not pushed to it's full potential.

Hey know it alls....

Quit bashing Captain M.

If you fly for Chicago Express, or ever flew for, or worked for Chicago Express, you would understand what she meant by that comment.

"Not used to its full potential" is a HUGE understatement.

"Lets have CEX pull out of Dayton, and fly to Gary, Indiana instead.. "

Brilliant moves by that mainline ATA marketing department....

Like any regional CEX is dependent on their parent or codeshare carrier. The reality here is that CEX is full of good management and good employees who keep the company cash positive all the time. Begging to expand with RJs only to hear maybe next year until now finally it seems ATA agrees RJ are and were needed but rather than being prepared by already having the planes we are forced to wait to get them and downsize the Saab fleet (with furloughs until RJs arrive, if they arrive and ATA survives) since we know the future is RJs.

CEX is a class act through and through, even management which is a rare thing these days. The management just could never get the support of a short sighted parent company and that is the frustration you see CM talking about. Ask the ATA guys and they will tell you all about their management not being able to see the forest for the trees.
