I will be honest, if I saw this KB in front of me, I would stick my "represented, due-payin" foot square in his junk. Then have ALPA get my job back. BECAUSE I CAN

Classic union mentality. I couldn't invent a better scenario to illustrate it.

unless, you were kidding?

yes sir, I was kidding. But I do disagree with the mentality of that letter. To sight one, I do not know of any carrier that has a 1st year Capt. At least one that uses RJ's for primary means of pax transport.

Retard!

Skynation, you are a retard......
-No, I'm not kidding.

I can't think of a better person to illustrate why retards shouldn't be allowed to fly planes than you...

-Not kidding about that either.

At ASA (no pbs) if you have 14 days of vacation per year you typically end up with two vacations of about 15 to 20 days off each.

How does that compare to skywest with pbs?

It doesn't. 11-14 days off is common in a vacation month. you get that anyway. That is one the problems with it. no 7 day conflicts in transition, training days built in. Hard lines gave you some extra days off during the year. Also, forced extra flying above and beyond what your senority should hold is complete BS. Also no cola. which is the only raise you can really look forward to at the regional level. wake up people. you are getting screwed. CRJ 70 and 90 pay is a joke. "we will pay you equal to other regional airlines". thats a great compensation policy. basically saying that as long a regional pilot labor is cheap, we will continue to follow those guidlines. real smart, bet that makes the pilot group feel good.

agreed. and I thought the letter was poorly written as well.

hmm, just because I don't support having ALPA at SkyWest, eh?

it's alright. I don't expect reasoned, well-thought out responses from the majority here. yours in particular.

In response to everything on here, I really hope that SKYW votes it in. Strictly on the fact that despite how you feel about unions, they almost always are, or eventually become necessary in this biz. I volunteer with ALPA at ASA. I am honored to help pilot group like ours in any way I can. All that I can tell the SKYW pilots is; look at the facts from both sides objectively. Vote regardless if you go "yes" or "no". A great deal of my friends are at SKYW in Chicago, I am sure we all have friends at either company. I wish us all the best, and minimal stress in our careers.

on a lighter note.

You see, I only give these type responses to people I respect, and you are definitely not included on that list.

To be brief, you are a fool! You come here and insult ASA people left and right and then expect us to respect your opinion. Get your a$s back to whatever mgmt job you hold at SKW! We don't buy your BS, we know what you are!

-Eat us all!

P.S.-People like you are the reason this inustry sucks so much-you are always willing to screw anyone else around!

So JMoney, what do you really think? It's really not good for you to hold back you know, you really need to let loose more!

actually, we here at ASA have had several 1st year Captains. Back in '98ish, there were several pilots hired off the street as Captains.
