I don't think Anderson wants to outsource 100-seat aircraft. The bigger the RJ gets, the less they're saving by outsourcing them.

How do you figure this part???

oh yeah. Now I remember....the mainline pilots agreed to UNDERCUT the regionals on the 90 seat rate and FLY THE DAMN THINGS FOR LESS THAN A REGIONAL PILOT.

Seems like a good time to say again something about the mainline pilots thinking only about themselves and punking out, but saying it again would just be "piling on" and in bad form. So I won't say they thought about only themselves and punked out again again...;)

This is a flawed argument, especially when you consider a 100 seat airplane would be the top paying aircraft at a regional and the lowest paying aircraft at a major/legacy.

XXX- usually means routing through LGA i.e CAE-LGA. The ship isn't going through ATL or CVG.

Eitherway I wouldn't mind us opening up a new base, MCO? DFW? DHN? maybe not DHN.

for once you're right. It won't be a 1 for 1 trade with 50/900. The growth for ASA will be the new 100 seat planes (no details on what it will be as of yet) along with the 900's.

Can't find enough pilots and the airports/sky are too crowded already (if you choose to believe the feds). So, the alternative is to move the same number of pax (or more) with the same number of crews already available (or fewer)....answer....planes with more seats.

Mainline will fly anything with more than 100 seats and "connection" will fly anything with fewer than 100 seats.....of course northing official has been announced, but remember you heard it here first.

Well, unless we go back to court with a judge watching over us again, I highly doubt that. You have to remember that the 76 seat addition (from 70) was done under "you will liquidate otherwise"---and I don't see that happening again unless Mars Attacks! You can wish all you want for larger planes (like the RJDC thing---hey, how did that play out anyway? Any huge rulings in favor of the RJDC?), but it won't happen. If it makes you sleep better at night, then go right ahead and think that way. Remember, you will also merge date of hire with SkyWest too. Yeah, that's the ticket. You heard it here too first---many 50 seaters will be parked soon(good rumor). I tend to think my announcement rumor has a better chance than your's of actually happening. Heck, I bet it does.

Also, why are you still at ASA?

We were in BK. How did Comair do in BK too? Their rates went way down also under the gaze of a BK judge. But let me guess, had you gone through the same thing it WOULDN'T have ended up the same, with you anyway......riiight. Hey, how did your date of hire merge go with SkyWest? Why again are you still at ASA? We have a lot of newhires from ASA and they decided to step up and go for it. Are you shooting blanks?

General Weewee,

I'm not going to speak for Ohplease as he is quite capable of speaking for himself..... However he is going to UPS which is a far smarter move than going to Delta.....Maybe he can walk in your resume......

General, aren't you the one who states every time scope concessions come up that it absolutely, positively, without a doubt will not pass. Or you'll strike. Then roll the GO.

Then when the concessions pass, you come up with 1000 excuses for why the situation changed, or you got something good, or a gun was to your head, blah, blah, blah.

Sorry, Gen, but you have NO credibility on predicting the scope issue.

Oh, and BTW, thanks for that "monumental" prediction that -200s for -900s won't be one-for-one. No crap! Did anyone really believe that it would be? All I've ever heard is a 2-for-1 trade.

Now I'm sure you're salivating at the thought of a loss of airframes and furloughs at Connection, but we as ASA now have a no-furlough clause, that unlike yours, doesn't include "forced manure". So if you're hoping to see us lose our jobs, again, and as usual, you can sit and spin.

I think the General is drinking so much Kool Aid he might be in danger of drowning! What a TOTAL IDIOT! If DAL told this fool to go and hold up a liquor store, he would would say "ski mask? Hell, I'll just wear my penguin suit-no one would dare question my authority to rob any store I choose! I work for DAL-By God!"

"Do it Once and Do it Right?" Ring a bell-moron? How about "Bankruptcy-proof pensions" for the execs? What type of honorable company would ever do these things? Let me see.....Delta? Why the insane level of loyalty? General, did they make you the Grand Marshall at the last Gay Pride parade they sponsored?

You are once seriously obsessed monkey-General, go and get a hobby, take a walk, get a dog, do something other than give DAL virtual BJs all day long on FlightInfo.

-Truth is-NO ONE here cares what you think anymore! You have lost whatever cedibility you had by being the biggest excuse-making, rationalizing, pollyanna ever to hit the internet!

I second that about General Irrelevant.

And back to the original question, I predict ASA will be flying out of at least one, and maybe two United hubs before 2008 is over. Most likely IAD, and possibly ORD.

Mesa is on the verge of implosion, and UAL will dump them (for a second time). UAL lifted the no-compete clause, so Skywest can fly for both UAL and DAL in LAX. SkyWest Inc will take over Mesa's UAL flying... SkyWest Airlines will move back to the Left Coast and ASA will cover all SkyWest Inc flying east of the Mississippi.

People don't care about me anymore? Booo-hoo. Oh well, I honestly DON'T CARE. Anyway, I think I will be right about the parking of the 50s. Oil has a way of getting rid of planes, like our 737-200s. The smaller RJs are next. The larger RJs--CR9s and E170s--can't be added too fast due to the fact that they need gate space which is a limited asset, and we are actually gaining more mainline planes next year to use those assets, even on the domestic side. Maybe you have heard about some of the planes we are getting next year? 9 MD90s and 7 737-700s have been anounced so far, along with some new 777s. Some of those MD90s and 737s will most likely take back some RJ routes. I think that would be wonderful. Bye now Jmoney. (Mr. Credibility himself)

Very unrealistic dreaming. United would rather have Republic or Shuttle America (same) flying their nicer E170s than your planes. They will be getting 17 more shortly when Delta replaces, one for one, their E170s with E175s. Mesa's IAD ops could also be replaced by more experienced NE feeders that already provide them 50 seaters--like CHQ E145s or TranStates E145s. They already use them and they are better than Mesa. Maybe you should dream about seniority integration with SkyWest.

General, it's disappointing that you'd rather see flying going to non-ALPA carriers like CHQ while ALPA carriers lose their flying. You should know better.

PCL128, take off your rose colored glasses.... The General is simply expressing the view of most mainline pilots.... They don't care who does it as long as it is cheap, so that there is more money for them..... If they really cared, you would see "brand scope".....

Joe, I'm not wearing any rose-colored glasses. I know exactly what most mainline pilots think. That doesn't make it any less disappointing and unfortunate.

Yeah let DAL pay the higher fuel bill on the E-170/175 much higher=coming out of your wallet, not ours !!

9 MD90s(that is nothing to brag about)

General where are you going to be and the rest of DAL when they merge next year....And I can guarantee my source is at the top-if you know what i mean. Right Ohplease you know my source!!!

DALLAS people can tell you I told them in July, that year!

Unfortunate: Yes......

Dissappointing: Only if you were expecting something different..... I expect that from most mainline pilots....That's why I don't expect much to change....

I don't expect anything different from most mainline pilots, but I did expect better from the General. He's generally well informed and intelligent, and turning your back on your union brothers is bad form, even if they do fly smaller airplanes.

I didn't say I would RATHER have them do it, I think it is more likely. ASA has a terrible reputation in the airline industry due to their performance in ATL, and that will spill over into any new flying they would like to have with anyone else. I never said I wanted non-ALPA carriers to do the job, just ones that will help our organzation, not hurt it. ASA is always in the news, giving us yet another black eye because people think it is Delta, and don't know the difference. That is one reason ASA is slowly being repleced in ATL. Johney Penninicamp should know that all of the krap they pulled trying to get a new contract, which was due to them no doubt, could come back to haunt them when they look for new flying. I think United will stick with CHQ and TranStates---just because they have the planes and have been giving them feed already in IAD and ORD--and doing a better job than Mesa.
