No more pipe for you!

WHICH BASE?

SkyWest orders 22 jets from Bombardier for $773 mln

SkyWest has placed a firm order for 18 CRJ700 NextGen and four CRJ900 NextGen regional jets. The transaction also includes 22 options which SkyWest can apply to either aircraft. Based on aircraft list prices, the value of the firm order is approximately $773 million, Bombardier said. This is the first order for CRJ NextGen aircraft by SkyWest, it said.

What's the difference between a regular -700/-900 and a "NextGen" -700/-900?

Thanks, I did last night. Anyway, I never said you shouldn't get a good contract, I just stated that because of the slowdown and the bad ontime performance, along with the bad press for bag loss (not your fault, except those bags falling from your CR7)--don't expect a lot of offers from other airlines wanting your service. The bad press will kill you for awhile. In the meantime, enjoy your pay raise!

Bye Bye--General Lee

99% of our operational performance problems are due to to ATL ground ops which is 100% Delta. But things have gotten better and will continue to improve with the jetways and other things that are being implemented. Things we wanted to implement long ago, but DAL didn't think they were necessary until they became responsible for our ground performance.

The ramp tower, which is now DAL, refused to let me board a DAL jump-seater. Gate agents, which are now DAL are sending our airplanes out without clearing non-revs and jump-seaters saying the flights are weight restricted when they are not. In the past we could put up a fight, but now we're just at the mercy of the ATL.

Our performance is already improving because DAL is finally getting it. Hopefully the improved performance will result in contracts with other airlines.

And we are not the worse performing airline. It's just that the worst performers aren't required to report their stats.

You still have control of the parking brake, right?

That's what I use to get my point across, but at the last FS meeting it was made very clear that DAL is responsible for it's ACS, as poor as it is, and they have the final say in all ACS issues. The DAL jump-seater had a real hard time accepting it was his own people screwing him over, and we also ended bumping revenue instead of defueling. I figured if it was going to bump revenue they would send a defuel truck, but they bumped instead. I wasn't involved in the other issues but was informed of them by other non-revs and jump-seaters. My PAs also tactfully explained the situation and who was responsible very clearly.

People don't care about me anymore? Booo-hoo. Oh well, I honestly DON'T CARE. Anyway, I think I will be right about the parking of the 50s. Oil has a way of getting rid of planes, like our 737-200s. The smaller RJs are next. The larger RJs--CR9s and E170s--can't be added too fast due to the fact that they need gate space which is a limited asset, and we are actually gaining more mainline planes next year to use those assets, even on the domestic side. Maybe you have heard about some of the planes we are getting next year? 9 MD90s and 7 737-700s have been anounced so far, along with some new 777s. Some of those MD90s and 737s will most likely take back some RJ routes. I think that would be wonderful. Bye now Jmoney. (Mr. Credibility himself)

Bye Bye--General Lee

I'm sure your predictions will come true. Just like you have repeatedly predicted that DALPA would never give scope relief, right? Oh Snap!

Airtran.

Bye Bye--General Lee

So your vision is to shed the narrow body feed? I think another airline tried that once. It was called Pan Am. How did that work out for them? Hey Delta, give this guy the corner office! He's got it all figured out!!! After all, he's a Delta Pilot!

Well I guess maybe our pilots aren't pu$$ies like yours who are afraid to rock the proverbial boat. Maybe that why y'all have caved on every concession put in front of you over the last 7 years. Maybe that's why you can all strut around like Russian Submarine Captains and point the finger at everybody else for the problems you created.

You see, if you hadn't taken pay and QOL concessions when DAL threatened to close the doors (as if that would have happened) you wouldn't have placed the downward pressure on the regionals, prolonging our negotiations. This forced us to fight, which gave YOUR COMPANY, Delta a black eye, because as you stated, "the passengers don't know they're on ASA". So in reality, it's YOUR fault. But keep strutting around like y'all are better than everybody. We're counting on you to take more concessions on scope and soon WE will be your narrowbody feed. Carry on, General.

Talked to J.A. (old CP) today said all those new 900's are getting ready for our new base to open (he has already moved four).

The General?

Where did the General go? he must be busy running the airline. I guess upper mgmt. is on pins and needles for the General to enlighten them on the state of the market, the future of the air transport system, the aerodynamics of the space shuttle, and the latest theories of dark matter.

The General is a very busy guy-got to hurry and break that 10,000 post mark so he can get his complementary Rainbow Brite doll and FI Beanie Hat. Very busy, very important, and still no one cares.....
-Tough Break, Gen...

Wow, I thought I was the only one to RANT. Sheez. When again will we give more concessions on scope? If we have to go BK again, anything is possible--ask the Comair guys who lost 50 RJs in BK. Highly doubtful we will go BK again, unless Mars Attacks! or another 9-11. So, I think we won't be backed into the corner like we were, which means we won't have to do anything. If you still want to think about flying 100 seaters, go to USAir, they are hiring on the E190. I bet you would love it in PHL. Reading your posts on here, you would flunk the Delta Psych exam quickly, and probably the cog test too. And, we are getting more narrowbody feed ourselves in 08--9 MD90s and 7 737-700s. You must not have heard? But you did hear about the CR7s SkyWest is getting for United (22), right? What about the 4 CR9s they are getting for us? Didn't you say ASA was going to do some United flying? Are you ever wrong? I think so.

I've been reading the stuff on here long enough that I should know the answer to this question. General, what is it that you have against ASA? You seem like you'd be happy so see us just go away. Would you prefer that a non-union carrier move in and just do away with us in ATL? I just don't understand your hostility towards us. I know you are a big Delta pilot and you are soooo much better and all, but what gives? Did ASA not hire you or something?

What's the difference between a regular -700/-900 and a "NextGen" -700/-900?

The seats are more ergonomic and they'd moved the windows. Apparently it's suppose to be a more comfortable airplane for the pax. I haven't been on one yet to know if there is really a difference though.

No, my beef is with Ohplease! and John Pennicamp. They give new meaning to the term "numbnutz." As far as ASA and your future, that is now up to St George, and as much as I would want to see you succeed, I also would like us to get back some domestic feed (we will with some new domestic planes coming in 08), and see less RJs around, period.(some 50s will be parked) There is a need for feed, and there is a need for some RJs. Some cities cannot support mainline aircraft. But, too many clog the system. I think our management is starting to see that too many can cause a large headache. (according to the townhall meeting Anderson gave on our Deltanet)

ASA needs to get their act together, or they will be replaced--as they slowly are in ATL. SkyWest in St George is responsible for that now. And, we are hiring, plenty of ASA guys in fact. You can always apply and try to be one of them.

Delta now controls our baggage, gates, schedules, routes, reservations, connections, etc. The only thing ASA does is provide pilots to fly the people from point A to point B. The Big D can no longer blame ASA or SKYW for their crappy performance.

This is a portion or an e-mail that was just sent out through ourASA........I have edited most of it.........

New items have been activated within ourASA today for pilots and Flight Attendants. These items will not directly affect your day-to-day position; however, they should assist in some of your functions.

The following new selections..............
  • Accommodations.......................
  • Crew Info page............
  • Domicile Info
    • Contains data that is domicile specific such as:
      • Lounge codes
      • Office numbers
    Reserve Codes..............
  • Crew Resources Extension................
You wanted a rumor about domiciles, we have a single domicile. Now the e-mail says Domicile specific. These people aren't quick enough to catch these types of slips.
