the third word on the top line in your avatar fits you to a "t."
who said the union should save this guy's job?
however most non retards would prefer that facts are verified before action is taken.
no union will be saving the guy's job if allegations are indeed true.

Who knows if ALPA will decide to help this guy protect his job. However, I am certain they will investigate it by hearing his side of the story and not base it on this message board.

Actually, the union IS required to defend this guy's job if he requests it. It's called Duty of Fair Representation, and the union, as well as the reps themselves can be sued by not fufulling their duty.

I've done some crazy ******************** before too; unfortunately, he did it on an overnight. The deadhead home must have been the longest flight of his life. I actually hope he can come back from this a better man. By the way, ALPA has a program for those that need it (can't remember the name)...probably only for those that go to them first though.

Maybe it could be explained as the beer goggle effect making the AMC Pacer he trashed resemble Buyin LiarBrat's Diablo and the Chevette next to it appear to be Professor Hall's Hummer H2.

Nice Avatar!

The program you are referring to is the HIMS program, and it is a great thing and has saved many pilots career and medical.

Here is link with information.

ALPA doesn't get people's jobs back - it's the company and arbitrators decision/ruling. ALPA just acts as your lawyer if you do something stupid so don't use that is anti-union rehtoric.

That being said, I still credit ALPA for helping me to keep my job and prove that I was in the right, after being falsely accused by a mgmt pilot.

Edit that, I credit my local MEC chairman, and Grievance Chairman.

Darn it Terry. I just didn't want to come out and say we had more than our share. HIMS is a good program. I know a guy who went through it and turned his life around. He's enjoying a sober lifestyle and still has a career. When crap happens like it did in GRR things have gone too far.

Here are the facts!

I was one of the crew members going to ATL the next morning. I was sound asleep when I heard a very lound knock on the door(thought it was mine) but it was the Police looking for XYZ in the next room at 0127. It took a little while of listening to the conversation to figure out it was a fellow crew member.

As told by the guy with 4 stripes, his 3 striper left when he went to the bathroom. He apparently departed the resturant and was calm when he left but something threw him into a rage. He smashed 5 car windows and the police we called to the scene. He ran into some high grass/brush and the police waited for him and sang jail house rock to him on the way to the brink. This all occured sometime after 11pm with a 5:15 am report. Not smart by any of the crew members. I hope they did not pay by credit card!

I ended up going to GRR CVG PVD and back and he really screwed up our day. C.P. Uniform Guy was on call and I spoke with him. The person just came off probation last week and he was being tracked down for his probationary interview. I am guessing riddle grad because of his age 23.

I have his name and will follow up on his case because he screwed me personally more than I can describe on this web site. I will just say I had Major Surgery scheduled for the next day.

Morons like this guy need not be anywhere near the inside of a cockpit for the rest of his life.

I think you should keep your opinion of events you did not witness firsthand to yourself, and call your union rep.

Making public threats about "having his name and following up" is a very stupid thing to do when it's easy to find out who you are.

You may wish to consider anger management too. Our contract allows us to be rescheduled. Quit your whining how the pilot screwed you, he has enough problems of his own!

Not to defend the guy but in reality people do have medical issues that are not fully known or understood. Add in achohol or maybe prescription drugs (I have zero first, second, third hand info in this case) and people can act in very strange ways. How about some understanding that this could be one of those cases before crucifying this person on the WORLD WIDE WEB. It may be that we are thankful that this situation wasn't worse by having him get behind the wheel of a car then too. Smashed windows can be replaced. It's just stuff.

I was 23 when I started and didnt have to buy my ratings at riddle. Dont stereotype.

"Buy your ratings at Riddle"? So people don't earn their ratings at Riddle? Remember. Don't stereo type. Looking forward to your backpeddle.

And, thanks to you providing the details of your trip, with a quick check of crewtrac I now have your name. I can't wait to have the opportunity to fly with you! It's always nice to have a heads up on who the real a-hole FOs are. As JP said, this guy has enough problems without you harassing him. Aside from that, just what are you gonna do to him, eh tough guy? Bust his windshield?

I mean, I realize those gender reassignment surgeries are tough to reschedule but "lighten up, Francis"

Its not harassment when it is the truth, the moron brought this upon himself. Put yourself in this FO's shoes and tell me if you wouldn't be alittle upset.

You have plans coming up after your trip that now have to be canceled and you lose money you don't have b/c some guy DECIDES to get drunk and damage property.

If you have a long enough ovnt then going to the bar is fine, just know your LIMIT.

Hey Guys,

I did not mean for it sound like a threat....I am just very upset with how this guy made all of us ASA pilots look in the publics eye once again. I hate us all looking like drunk idiots which 99.98% ARE NOT. That is what I meant by my statement.

I never wish anything bad upon anyone unless they bring it on themselves. I feel bad for the guy!

Peace!

Whatever. The pilot needs to quit whining how he was screwed. The FO didn't screw him. He could have been extended for something else. That's the ASA way. And threatening the guy only makes matters worse. How mature!

This FO screwed himself and dragged a fellow pilot down with him. I have little remorse for people like that...

I have remorse for those put in unfortunate situations due to no fault of there own.

Don't stress yourself about a scheduling change or extension...hell, anytime I see one leg home on the last day of a trip, I expect it. It makes the times I actually get to go home as originally scheduled all that more exciting.

Yes...that was me doing backflips from Spot 41 all the way to the bus stop last week. :)

What about when someone decides to call in sick on a holiday and someone gets screwed, becasue they have to cover for them now?

It is selfish, but it is part of the job.

Anyways, following up with the guy is a bad idea. You don't want to do ANYTHING that can be construed as harrasment, that is a good way to find yourself in real trouble.

It being true has nothing to do with it not being harrassment.

D...I heard from SD about how your trip was changed around, messing up your surgery schedule, sorry to hear about all of that....

First of all, after hearing the back story from another source close to the individual in question, it is quite clear alcohol was not the primary in this "incident." It is pretty obvious there were further "motivating factors" in this midnight GRR romp, outside of the infamous $3 pitchers at everyone's favorite downstairs midwestern cantina. Apparently, the person in question's "significant other" had just broken up with them, in addition to having a few other personal relation problems. After speaking w/ CP CV, this guy has missed 3 requests for end-of-probation meetings. Don't get me wrong, it was clearly not the brightest decision of the century, and his holiday certainly won't be any merrier now, and it did affect a number of people's lives considerably; but let's not try to tear this guy down any more I'm sure he's already going through...

Well it looks like GRR's best kept secret (200 yds from the hotel) is now out in the open....

Here are the facts!

As told by...
He apparently...
I am guessing...

First we'll give him a fair trial, then we'll hang him.

I hope you're never on my jury.
