SH just sent out an email explaining the crap July schedules. Now I feel better...

yeah "max effort" and "full throttle" what an arse he be! Well don't fly fatigued, safety FIRST, get your adequate nutrition breaks etc etc

PUSH PILOT PUSH PILOT PUSH PILOT! You watching Mr FAA man?

When the FAA finally gets off it's duff those NAP lines will all be history, since the minimum rest behind the door will be 10 hours. You can thank Colgan for that......

Bye Bye---General Lee

The FAA has been dragging their feet on rest requirement changes for over thirty years. Don't put your money on anything changing anytime soon.Even with Babbit in office, and Colgan or no Colgan!
Too Political!

I was going to make a detailed comment....but a re-run of "The Price Is Right" just came on. Brb.

Pretty much.....Uh Ohhhhhhhh Spaghettio's. :(

I'm going to have to call in fatigued after bidding, this is crap!

No, the complaint is that there are nothing but 4 day trips. Furthermore, these 4 day trips are apparently all high workload trips instead of a mix of the 3-4 days which would be possible if we were properly staffed. A high amount of workload intense 4 day trips is symptomatic of a poor staffing model.

Put down the kool-aid, junior.

First we're complaining that the lines are a paycut. Now there is plenty of money out there and now we're fatigued. I thinking this is more about not having 3 days than actually being fatigued. I haven't looked at the lines. If they're blocked at 90hrs plus than fatigue maybe a factor.

Look out, nothing gets by this guy!

Maybe, then, look at the lines before you judge everyone as whiners. I'll do the work for you. Straight from SH:

Not quite 90hrs block, but that's not the point. Very high block 4 day trips (with no option of 3 days) across the board while continuing to under-staff reserves is indicative of poor staffing. You sit in IAD complaining about not flying enough. Down here, we're flying every day with constant min rest to reduced rest overnights, flying what are essentially naps and being extended after that. Not to mention, the BS TDYs to Dulles at 5AM and involuntarily being put on Call me First (a reason you don't fly much), another contract violation.

I wish I had severe SJS like you so I could enjoy tossing company salad as much as you appear to.

These numbers must have included nap lines, which really aren't representative of what the vast majority of our pilots are flying. Here's some numbers without the nap lines skewing things: (all numbers are FO)
I also did not include reserves in day off calculations- their days off are all 11 per month.

Crj ATL FO
Avg block- 87
Avg Credit- 91
Avg days off- 12.21
Avg consecutive days off- 3.68 (one line with only 2 consecutive days off)
Avg duty hours (month)- 156
Avg daily duty- 8.21 hrs

Cr7 ATL FO
Avg Block- 86.74
Avg Credit- 92
Avg days off- 13
Avg consecutive days off- 3.95
Avg duty hours (month)- 140.88
Avg daily duty- 7.36 hrs

Crj IAD FO
Avg Block-81
Avg Credit- 86.87
Avg days off- 12.9
Avg consecutive days off- 3.68
Avg duty hours (month)- 140
Avg daily duty- 7.77 hrs
----------------------------------

25 atl crj fo lines have the ability to pick up a 4 day trip
38 atl cr7 fo lines have the ability to pick up a 4 day trip
6 iad crj fo lines have the ability to pick up a 4 day trip

atl crj fo: 49 lines with greater than 12 days off
atl cr7 fo: 121 lines with greater than 12 days off
iad crj fo: 12 lines with greater than 12 days off
----------------------------------

Looks like ATL CRJ guys are getting the brunt of it; perhaps this accounts for the different perceptions of "omg working my tail off" vs "not working enough."

just stop picking up open time and things will change. Lets show the company that we are indeed running thin. They won't know until we show them exactly what we/they are/aren't working with.
I don't want to hear about line holders geting extended and blah blah blah...don't pick up the phone and you don't get extended.
Pilots on furlough = no pick up of opentime.
support your pilots and your union.

Guys. This extra flying came as a surprise from Delta. It is in our best interest to be flexible, and to grow. That will get the furloughs back. We are already calling a lot of them back, and more soon I'm betting. Even if all of them started class on Monday, the ones who have been gone a while will take probably 2 months to get spooled up.

Things have been turning around quickly. We need to show that we are a good company, that can roll with a few punches as we get back up to speed. That will drive more upgrades, and get the furloughs back a lot sooner than being an idiot, and taking an anti-company stance. It is the company that pays your salary, after all, and if you are anti-company, you're shooting yourself in the foot. This ain't rocket science folks.

you must either be SH, an IP (meaning u don't fly a line, no offense meant + I have a PC coming up:)) , or a big big big kool-aid drinker:smash:

hey maybe it's RA from the alpa bd! :uzi:

Perhaps company should have thought of this before they decided to cramp the vice down on the pilot group. Not trying to be negative, just stating the facts. For many of us the punches have been coming hard and fast for quite some time.

oh crapo u mean it wasn't this month??????????????????????????

Damn, it wasn't? To quote Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer:

Once again, things that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!!!!

And I just got the "4 in 12" red priority OurASA message for this months sick and tired call too. Bummer.

+1 to this.

I know, and I'm not minimizing that at all. The reserves have been taking it up the shorts since the furloughs started. But remember, they haven't been clamping down on the pilot group. They have been trying to run as lean as possible, to reduce our costs as much as possible for the rate-reset this fall.

I just don't care for spewing vitriol, in either direction. We all gotta get along to keep getting our paychecks, and maybe have a chance of having the paycheck get bigger.
