My only issue for contributing money to our newly furloughed guys is that not all of them need it.
There is a big difference between offering money to a guy who has a family and student loans than offering money to a guy who's parents paid $180k for him to go to riddle and he now plans to go back to live with his parents for the next year.
My humble suggestion would be that it be a direct help rather than involving the company or anyone else.
