Eventually who ever did it will be caught doing something else stupid.

Pilot on Pilot crime is as useless as Clay Aiken in a brothel. The laptop probably only had geriatric porn and pictures of airplanes on the hard drive.

People steal stuff on a more frequent basis than what is posted on the company email. The bulletin board in the old ops area always had three or four signs with pictures of stolen items; nice cell phones, sunglasses, jewlerey..etc. I accidentally left a nice pair of sunglasses in the locked bagroom only to come back 20 minutes later to retreive them and they were gone. Laundered shirts, jackets, trenchcoats also vanish on a regularly. If it is valuable don't leave it in plain sight. Rampers arent the only ones who don't flush the toilets.

With all that going on, who would leave their stuff unattended? There is something to be said about keeping the honest, honest, and about "out of sight, out of mind". I'd preffer it not be that way, but it is. Seriously though, I don't even take a piss without my laptop bag with me- also, it saves time with the whole urination/internet surfing thing........hold a sec, I gotta shake...........

I've left my laptop bag on my bag handle in the D-Lounge many a time before when I naively thought it was safe. Now, I carry all my sh** around with me not only because I won't walk the 2 miles to the new lounge, but also because of the recent thefts. I wish they'd install a camera or two in the bagroom.

Why not just lock the interns in there?

I don't think it was a ramper because they can't even get into our new lounge from what I understand-that's why that door is there that we have to go through to use the bathroom. I guess they could come in from the ramp somehow, but it seems unlikely

I know this doesnt compare to a laptop, but I had someone steal several 'stickers' off my bag. Not aviation related items either. I mean, WTF?

I think they make a gps tracker for laptops so maybe i'll get one on mine in case it gets stolen

I haven't seen an intern in years... I guess we just don't rate anymore.

Additionally-Have you thought this through? Interns are usually from Embry-Riddle... Have you any idea what they would do when left to their own devices for a period of time in some bagroom?

-They would have to hose the place down-twice!
