Yeah, upon further review this has to be flamebait. It was pretty believable in the beginning, but now its obvious.

I just can't believe somebody would waste their time finding some Riddle kid's website and fabricating this whole thing.

But hey, if you really want to join a successful flight team, UND won the SAFECON championship this past year, its right there in color in AOPA Pilot! You too can have pasty white skin and know more about the E6-B or airplane pictures than you know about the opposite sex!

<--flight team nerd as well, and yes, the free flight time is nice

Most of us also gained some fairly close friends from the flight team, and also from other competitors teams as well.

it's fake alright. i emailed the real guy from the address off his web site.

his response:
Thanks for the notice. It is quite interesting. I had an oral with my instructor this evening and he walked in and said, "I think I picked up one of your posts on FlightInfo.com." I was like, "What?" I'd never heard of the site before, much less post anything to it. My IP is a member, so he showed me the posts and the person's profile. I have no clue who he/she is or anything but I've already begun measures to have him/her removed.

Thanks again for the notice. I have started my own (real) account, but it is not yet active and I cannot yet post messages to the forum. You're more than welcome to repost this email to the forum so that everyone knows what the situation is. I must admit I haven't read all of this person's posts yet, so I don't know how much he/she has done to attempt to damage my reputation thus far. Hopefully everything will be alright.

I'm getting sick and tired of EVERYONE basing someones knowledge and skill based soley on the number of hours in ones logbook. A great education goes along way to make up for lack of flight time. I know I'll get flamed for this but I'm just sick of it, my degree from Riddle will make me a better pilot and will make up for lack of flight time in a logbook. There is more to flying than just droning around in cruise, a formal, professional aviation education has proven to more than make up for lack of flight time
No, no, no, this can't be real. You really can't believe this crap. Your degree from ERAU is a nice start, but you really don't know a thing about the real world of commercial aviation. You have a lot to learn my friend, and with this typical ERAU attitude, it looks like you will have to learn it the hard way.

Just incase he is real.

Mat, I want you to go ask your professors where "situational awareness" comes from. Ask them if you can learn what it is in a classroom, hearing others talk about it, and WHAT THE HECK DOES IT MEAN. After their response, then go back and re read your posts and let us know if the ERAU education will make up for flying time. Also, your attitude speaks for itself. One of those pilots that is not afraid to get himself in a position that he can use his superior skills to get himself out of. P.S. Now re read my first two sentences.

To many people die from attitudes like this.

Re: MattERAU

To everyone:

I feel I must apologize for this person with the username MattERAU. He is not the maintainer of the website he/she claims as his/hers. I have no idea who that person is. Yesterday at a scheduled activity with my flight instructor, my IP pointed out this person and posts and that was the first time I was aware that anybody was using my identity for their own benefit or attention. I'm sorry for the confusion and any harm this has caused.

To respond to some of the posts, no I have never heard of a Riddle pilot getting hired with any less hours than standard, unless they (or someone from any other school) has gone through an airline's internship program.

I am not trying out for the flight team. They are a very good team, and I congratulate both the Golden Eagles for their 2003 and past National Chamionships, as well as UND for this year's and all their past championships (and every other school, you guys are very smart students).

Anyway, I hope that settles some of the tention brought about amongst this forum. To clarify, that website is my own. I never intended for it to be posted to the forum or anything else. It's mainly up there for my friends to view and use some of the resources available. I try to keep it current but lately that's been hard.

Hope everyone is doing well and having a good Independence Day weekend (for those who are Americans at least). Good luck to everyone if I don't hear or get to write you again. Thanks for understanding. Hope everything is settled.

Sincerely,

Matthew Teixeira

Very classy, Matt. Might I recommend you contact the moderators and have this imposter's posts removed and his account banned. Its a shame you were caught up in what most likely is some reserve-pilot mischef.

Once again, good luck with your flying.
