They really should offer an immediate post grad class at Riddle called 'Understanding Real World Aviation.' The objective of the class will be to teach the eager grads how not to make @sses of themselves when they get that first CFI/Freight/Airline job. The Professor should be a Line Captain at a Regional with many a good story under his/her belt, heck even a former Riddle Grad would be good. It's the only way I can see some of these guys getting deprogramed from ERAU other then HARSH REAL WORLD REALITY. I haven't flown with a captain yet who doesn't mumble the words 'Riddle' and offer an embarassed look when I ask him where he learned to fly. BTW, like others have said, lose the homepage quick. There are alot of bored guys on reserve that prowl this page.

Do you know if they have lower mins for Riddle pilots?
I'm thinking perhaps Matt didn't log out of one of the school computers. the guy's got 162 hours and is working on his instrument rating. On his resume, under "experience," he lists a day-long session in a high-altitude chamber.

Matt, it's great that you're so enthusiastic. God knows we all were at one time, but please remove any link to your web site from this board.

Does anyone know what happened to the thread on the main board? It seems to have vanished.

Probably a Riddle conspiracy. Those guys are the best. It would be naive to think they don't have conncections that could delete a thread disparaging the good name of the finest aviation university in the world.

BTW, anyone know a good barber where I could get a cut like

<------This???

Matt... Later in your career when some one slames people from Riddle remember your post and you'll know why
At some point you will find that having "Riddle" on your resume doesn't mean much. The crap that they feed you while you are there is just that. Crap. Its all about the experiance you gain with the path you take. Attitude is everything. If you go into an interview with an attitude that you deserve something because of one thing or another, you are most likely not going to get that job.
Unless the president of a company says hire him (or her) everyone is pretty much equal at the start of the interview.

ERAU class of 2002

Metro Sheriff you are a real jerk. All I wanted to do was put a webpage online to share my passion for flying and all I get is slammed by a bunch of mean spirited jerks like yourself. I hope one day that I never get you as an F/O!

Dude, please stop. STOP DIGGING NOW, THEY ARE GOING TO EAT YOU ALIVE MAN!!!! Everyone digs the passion for flying, trust me. We're just looking out for your best interests. IF you want some advice, take down the link, stop talking and sit back and observe for a few hundred more hours (at least).

Jeez Matt, you are gonna have a rough go of it unless your skin thickens up. We're just having a little fun at your expense. We were all there once. If we hadn't been then it wouldn't be funny.

If you are that passionate about aviation then I would iagine you will be at Oshksoh. I will be camping in Vintage Aircraft meadow. I will give you my N-Number and you can drop by for some BBQ and a beer.

As for flying with me, you probably don't have to worry. The company told me I am not talented enough to fly with the Riddle guys...:D

I'm getting sick and tired of EVERYONE basing someones knowledge and skill based soley on the number of hours in ones logbook. A great education goes along way to make up for lack of flight time. I know I'll get flamed for this but I'm just sick of it, my degree from Riddle will make me a better pilot and will make up for lack of flight time in a logbook. There is more to flying than just droning around in cruise, a formal, professional aviation education has proven to more than make up for lack of flight time

Sound the alarm, something smells funny here. Either we got a very vindicative flamebaiter in here or this kid (to quote Robin Williams) 'is in darn need of a bl@wjob then any other white man in history.' Let's just assume we got some flamebait here guys. If this kid really as stupid as he is letting on here then I say let his @ss get slammed to the ground when he gets out to the real world like we all know it will. Unlike his type most of us listened to those who went before us when we wanted to learn about this profession.

Oh well, I'm off to enjoy one of the few holiday weekends I get off. I imagine this thread won't be here by the time I get back. Remember though, the Gaut and MattERAU will always be with us in memory...

Well heck, I'd better throw away my logbook and go learn everything over again at Riddle. Apparently I wasn't taught correctly.

Ever seen a cloud down there in Prescott?

See my previous post. I've got the degree myself. I would say i am pretty much on equal ground with everyone else....some are better, some are worse. Ground school seems to come down to study habits i think. Who is studying and who is out at the bar you know. I did get off the gate pretty fired up though. (graduation)

It's amazing people keep falling for this over and over again. The Guat was at least funny the first time because it was original. This is just stupid.

Repeat after me: this is not a real person. It's some bored guy with way too much time on his hands stirring up trouble!

I am going to try out for the Eagles flight team, when I make it do you think it will have an effect on regional airline recruiters? Other team members tell me that only the best get selected so I think it will look good on my resume.
OK, now I know this guy must be fake.

HAHAHAHAHA "when I make it"

I love these resume wonderboys. Airlines look at your resume only to find hours. If you don't cut it, it goes in the trash. They dont care about that stuff. The only good thing about joining a flight team is building free time.
