Atlas over UPS?? hmmmm...really? I don't know about that. I think if he had a choice, he would prob stay at UPS

best flying job

Certainly not better than UPS as a CAREER

I'll repeat: It's all in what you love to do. Making a ton of money isn't more valuable to me than thoroughly enjoying what I'm doing. Over my life I've met many people sitting on a mountain of money and hating life. If Atlas (or any other ACMI for that matter) don't fit then don't go there. If this life is what you like then go for it. Both choices are equally valid and it depends on what fits your life.

For all the Haters. I was at Atlas for 5 years and loved every minute of it. Great people and great stories! Grass is always greener, but no regrets.

well put, and I would in a heartbeat go back to Polar for slightly less pay and have my old life back without the extra time on the road, the constant schedule changes and what I am now dealing with as an Atlas pilot....you're so right.. money is not everything

Just curious, was is there that much difference between what it was like on the Polar side vs. Atlas and the new contract?

Sorry, I mis-worded my post. When I said "is", I meant to imply when Polar was operated separate before the single contract. IOW, is there that much difference between then and now?

Edited for clarification.

Atlas is actively engaged in due diligence for another purchase. What effect would that have on the current productivity. Would the Atlas/Polar group react with performance decrements until integration or stay at the same consistent level until details were worked out.

Everyone I'm flying with is saying the same thing, that Atlas is looking at buying another airline; but, no one has any factual information when it comes to the source of this information other than, "well, I flew with Poncho and Lefty the other day, and they said they heard it from bubba on the flight line" Where are you guys hearing this stuff?

...Atlas is looking at buying another airline...
I would imagine that is to acquire a bigger chunk of AMC passenger flying. But that would come with serious baggage, a seniority list full of granny F/As. Can't imagine they need more cargo lift. Many other 747 operators use PW motors, my understanding is Atlas does not. But maybe they do now with their new 767s.

I would think they'd be after NA 767s and AMC. World has 2.5 11s flying AMC and 747 fleet isn't worth squat anymore.

Exactly what they would want!
World has......wait for it....MD-11s! Nobody wants those POS!

Could you give any more details and / or information? Is it with Global (World / North American) like everyone assumes? Or someone else?
