Just got a text message from an 80 FO at AA who just told me that scheduling told him they are going crazy as the 80's were grounded? Any truth to this?
Nothing can stop AA Superrrr 80s!!!!
The Boeing MD-80 is a relatively quiet, fuel-efficient twinjet aircraft.
I know Eagle recently held 22 out of 25 CRJ's out of service to prove to the FAA that the paperwork on maintenance was in order, perhaps this is something similar. More fallout perhaps from the SWA rudder inspections......
A quick check of flightaware shows 80's up in the air.....
except Arpey.....
like the Jordan joke, Who is the only one who ever held Jordan under 20 ppg?

Associated Press FORT WORTH - American Airlines canceled about 200 flights Wednesday so its crews can inspect some wire bundles aboard its MD-80 aircraft.
A statement issued by the Fort Worth-based airline said the need for the new inspections became known during an audit of American by a joint team of federal and company inspectors.
American spokesman Tim Wagner said the inspectors are checking to make sure the wiring is installed and secured exactly according to federal directives. He says the aircraft will be restored to service on a rolling basis throughout the day.
The cancellations affect fewer than 10 percent of American's schedule for Wednesdaysaid. About 50 departures were canceled at American's hubs at Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago O'Hare international airports.
WN self discloses and get's our nuts hammered. The Feds find the AA "oversight." Be interesting to see how this plays out.
