ifly2slo,
Those are some tough questions. Who knows? We are steadily hiring and Parker seems to be acting conservatively. However, we are losing money and fuel isn't getting cheaper.
Qaulity of life is good and you can expect to make a decent, if not great, wage. Upgrade has been running around 7 years and most captains seem to make 140-180k/year. Once you get off reserve you have the option to drop down to 40 hours per month if you prefer the time off. After a year you recieve 21 days of vacaction and lineholders seem to average 14-17 days off per month. Lots of redeyes and you might end up in Vegas where it is almost exclusively night flying. Great group of pilots to work with. If you do take the job I would recommend the Bus unless you want to sit reserve for an extended period of time. Good luck.
