The ALPA executive council late last evening passed a resolution that denies the Airways East application to vacate the seniority award. The resolution states that barring any evidence of wrong doing on the part of the America West MEC they have no jurisdiction in overturning an award.

More to come later.

They couldn't if they wanted to.

The award is set in concrete for eternity and all that's left is the denial on the part of the U MEC.

Denial is a terrible thing as it encourages people to run from reality to the arms of fantasy where they live by themselves in their own world.

Fortunately, the U MEC is a small little world.

I thought there was no decision yet by those spindless wankers.

There is no time frame to present the list being it is tied to a joint contract.

If ever there were a problem with this award it's that!!! having the award tied to a joint contract can and has presented a problem. I know for a fact that the east leadership has done a awful job of managing their pilots expectations. That's just poor leadership. That same leadership will no doubt cost these pilots anywhere from $25,000 to $40,000 per year with their hopless antics. The pilots on the east should be really upset with their leadership, no two ways about it. They sank the ship and now they are willing to sink the life boat. Poor leadership in deed...

No big surprise. The EC acted correctly.

I personally disagree with their decision, but it was theirs to make. Time to put this to rest now and for the two pilot groups to work together towards a contract.
