Ok, let's add "delusional" to "clueless". McCain is a Labor-hating Republican. (Hint: The "R" thingy after his name is a clue)

The CRAF proposal was thwarted by ALPA sounding the alarm, and rallying several members of Congress to fight it. It was proposed by a guy named "Bush" who is a Republican. (His address is 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.) You'll recall his administration also tried to sell seaports to his arab buddies.

Now you're talking out of your butt. The APA was contacted by Lindsay (as we at NWA ALPA were) prior to the strike deadline, to ask what action, if any, we would like from the President.

The APA said they were cool with a PEB. They got one.

The NWA MEC said we wanted a strike. We got one.

Got it? You're entitled to your own opinion...but not your own facts.

'Kay, maybe it's sugar intake. Have you been putting too much sugar on your Frosted Sugar Bombs every morning?

Here's the bio of Judge Joe Kendall, the US District Court Judge who ruled against the APA pilots:

Name: Elton "Joe" Kendall.
Birth: January 12, 1954, Dallas, Texas.
Appointed By: President George Bush, on recommendation of Sen. Phil Gramm (R-TX).
Education: Southern Methodist University, B.B.A. 1977; Baylor University School of Law, J.D. 1980.

Here's the link to his official bio. Put down the crack pipe and read it. Then quit posting wild conjecture.

No you wouldn't. You're clueless.

Your post is Exhibit "A".

It's ok, Zonker, to hide behind Occams knowledge. It's obvious by your posts you can't think or research for yourself anyway.

what you think I can or can't do means nothing to me. I'm enjoying a good laugh at the expense of a republican D-bag. If that bothers you then all the better.

Glad you get your jollies from FI posts! At least I have a backbone and stand up for what I believe in and voice a legitimate opinion(just like Rez, Occam and PCL128). Even though I disagree w/them about politics I respect their opinions, I don't feel the need to resort to childish name calling. Your lack of class doesn't bother me one bit, sorry to disappoint you.

That's OK, you can call me names if you want to, it certainly tells me something about your character. Either way, I still don't see that the Democrats have done a hell of a lot for pilots over the last few decades. If you want to vote for higher taxes and loss of liberties, more power to you. Myself, I will vote for the candidate I think will be least intrusive on my life.

Oh no! I have poor character. What ever will I do?

There has been no greater loss of liberties than under the current idiot in office, so yea, good call there.

I may have poor character, but one thing I don't have is a vote for the worst president in modern history on my conscience.

Meanwhile he's off to the middle east to fellate his oil buddies and bang the war drum (again).

Proud to be an American, eh?

YOU BET! Even if a dem gets elected in Nov I won't denounce my country!

Seems to me you don't have a conscience no matter who you vote for, you're probably one of those people who said you'd move to Canada if Bush were elected, eh Zonks? Are you sure you're not bothered, you seem awfully worked up to me!

That's what I did, isn't it?

The usual tack. Question their patriotism.

Next you'll be asking me if I have an American flag on my lapel and whether or not I support the troops or the terrorists.

By your statement it sounded like you weren't proud to be an American. I never questioned your patriotism or support for our troups. And no I really don't care what you wear on you lapel, it could be a gay pride pin for all I care. Now, can we stop with the childish crap and agree to disagree?

Yeah, you will be thinking that when the Dems try to revoke the 2nd amendment. You know, one of those "Bill of Rights" things?

And there is no tack more predictable than a Democrat calling someone names when they don't have an argument. Just look at MoveOn.org. I never called anyone on here a name, nor belittled anyone. I kept my opinions civil, which you did not. Character.

I don't think that's going to happen. I think most of the Dems have grudgingly come to the realization that they can't fu-- with gun owners and still get elected, so they've backed off. Notice that there was hardly a peep about gun control after the Virginia Tech shootings and the mall shootings? After Colombine, the Dems were screaming for gun control before the last student ran out of the school. Not this time. They've learned not to mess with the gun lobby. It's too powerful. Besides, we could soon have a ruling from the Supremes that strikes down virtually every local gun control law on a Constitutional basis thanks to the challenge of the DC gun ban. If that happens, then creating new gun control laws will be virtually impossible without an amendment.

So the dems are going to revoke the Second Amendment now?

Wow, that is brilliant stuff.

We need to vote for Clinton... She is the only one that can help the airline industry!!!!!

And what exactly makes you think that they wouldn't try to go at it with an amendment? Sorry, I don't think that is beyond them at all.

Like I said, political realities. They know that they can't hold on to power if they take away people's guns. It's taken them decades to figure that out, but it seems that most Dems know better than to screw around with everyone's guns nowadays. They won't risk the backlash from it.

If Clinton heavy (she's not light, either physically or ideologically) gets elected, the cost to people who share tax brackets with pilots for the new NHS that she wants to implement will more than offset any possible (and that should be possible with a capitol "P") economic gains as the result of her so-called "labor friendly" policies.

"Free" health care will be the most expensive government program in the history of this country.

....and for you people ready to bring this up, that includes the Iraq War.

Let's face it guys, relying on the government or a politician to improve your personal lot in life just doesn't work like it did back in the day, even for large labor organizations.

It'll never be the way it was, ever.

That's why it's incumbent upon unions to find new and inventive ways to improve worker's lots in life. Trying to move the clock back to fit your methods will never, ever be the solution to the problem.

Do I know the answer? Nope. Do I have some ideas? Yep....but NOT ONE involves trying to "stick it" to anyone else using the government as a sharp stick.

Am I bitter toward unions? You might say that I'd a little jaded at the direction that unions have taken in the last 20 years and as the result of being an AF of L-CIO member for five years.

I'm also not afraid to tell some of you guys...some of the statements made, things said, and veiled treats leveled on this board during this SkyWest ALPA drive didn't do a thing to help a lot of our opinions about you guys and your members.

Keep fighting, keep lobbying, keep THINKING, but don't waste your political capital endorsing candidates.

It'll only serve to make ALPA irrelevant.

...and I don't think any of us want to see that.

22 Ways To Be A Good Democrat

THIS IS NOT SO HARD -- EVEN A CAVE MAN CAN DO IT....

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on
demand.

2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and
governments create prosperity.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law -abiding
Americans are more of a threat than U.S. Nuclear weapons technology in
the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by
cyclical documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by
soccer moms driving SUV's.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being
homosexual is natural.

7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of
federal funding.

8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach fourth
graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about
sex.

9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony
activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than
actually doing something to earn it.

11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own
money to make "The Passion of the Christ" for financial gain only.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain
parts of the Constitution, while the ACL U is good because it supports
certain parts of the Constitution.

13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too
high.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are
more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Thomas
Edison, and A.G. Bell.

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial
quotas and set-asides are not.

16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very
nice person.

17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked
anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in
charge.

18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in
jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.

19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag,
transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and
manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

20. You have to believe that illegal Democrat Party funding by the
Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest to the United States .

21. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right
wing conspiracy.

22. You have to believe that it's okay to give Federal workers the day
off on Christmas Day ..........but it's not okay to say "Merry Christmas."

Ready to vote???

He just has a wide stance!!!

Occum, both parties have their fair share of corrupt individuals ($90 grand in a freezer comes to mind-Jefferson). But overall it's a good generalization of the differences between the 2 parties beliefs. I choose to agree with Joe's post, you choose not to. That's what makes America great, our freedom of choice!

Give my best to Gary Condit...(had to get at least another jab in there!).
