We should start the 'big announcement pool.'

Everyone should chip in $5 to the pool to guess the closest date to the big announcement.

Big announcement is defined as a truly big announcement, i.e. fleet growth (at least 2 or more additional ETOPS planes), merger, buyout, new cities (yes, it'd be a big announcement at Aloha) etc. Aloha going cashless on ETOPS flights, or Banmiller saving 15% on GEICO is not considered a big announcement.

Basically, everyone chips in $5 per year to play. So if you think there's gonna be a big announcement on March 16, you buy in at $5. Christmas 2008, $5. If you think there are 2 big announcements, it's $5 per date. Those date picks are good only until New Years Eve. If you want to keep playing, then you make another $5 entry for say 2009. The closest bid to the actual big announcement date wins.

Someone would make some serious cash!

Management, non-represented employees and MEC/Negotiations Committee would be ineligible to play.

Why not make it fun? It's getting lame hearing the rumors of the big announcement.

Apparently, we are still interviewing for another class either in April or also on 31st March. Got that at Scheduling today.
