I didn't vote for it, so I'll "cry" about it all I want, thanks. And you seem to be missing the point here: we were lied to and mislead by management during the voting process.

We were all lied to.

Isn't true that when they voted the first time they were under the impression that if an acceptable agreement wasn't reached SWA would allow arbitration, but when the second offer came it included all kinds of threats should it not pass. Not the least was that SWA was not going to allow it to go to arbitration?

To be honest, we told them on here time and time again that you don't want to rattle the cage at the Southwest GO. Pretty much every AAI pilot on here, including PCL and Lear told us we were full of sh*t.

Then they tried to push the timeline on SL9 to the absolute limit to run out the clock for arbitration. We waited WEEKS for them to vote it down.

I hate to tell you I told you so, but I told you so.

The AAI pilots really need to focus their anger on the AAI MEC. They voted millions of dollars and increased furlough protection down. Period, end of story.

Now Wave you don't have to be condescending about it. That's my impression, but the SWA folks on here seem to be so far from an opinion that would acknowledge that fact that I thought perhaps I was unaware of some details. I don't profess to have as much insight into this as those of you that are obviously much closer to this than I am.
But if what I said is in fact the reality of it, you folks on the SWA side are saying things that are indefensibly arrogant and wrong. Things like' Hey you voted for it!" or even worse, blaming the AirTran MEC when they negotiated in good faith, and SWA was the deceitful party.

I don't see how you can blame the AirTran folks for believing SWA would be true to their word, and than when they weren't and stabbed them in the back, it's their fault??

What part of 'the SW first deal is going to be the best', don't you understand?

Why couldn't the AAI MEC send it out to the members for a full vote?

It was a train wreck in the making. I was hoping they'd vote it in and we could all move forward together, but the MEC decided to throw mud in Gary's face. It was a sad how it turned out.

The reality is that the AAI MEC was stalling for arbitration. Gary didn't want that and stated it many, many times. Who won?

I would say it's the MEC's job to do what they think will produce the best deal for the pilot's, period. If the deal was less than what they thought they at least could get in arbitration, than why would they put a "train wreck" out to the pilots to vote on? It's not their fault SWA went back on their word.

Gary put his best deal on the table. The MEC wanted more. Unfortunately, the AAI pilots lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because the Fantastic Seven shut it down. I would have never voted against Gary and pushed sooo hard for arbitration. But hey, it's water under the bridge. We tried to tell them, they didn't care.
