Thanks, Shootr.

Hope it's sooner, our current CBA (and the T.A.) require integration within 18 months from the date of the announcement, which from what I'm hearing from the Puzzle Palace is what they're roughly shooting for, but the new T.A.'s work rules should make it a much more enjoyable place to work while we wait.

The big question is whether the pay and signing bonus will be reasonable and not some crap Spirit rates or something similar. The other parts of the contract are roughly a wash, except for the Scheduling Section. Long Call Reserve will likely start going very senior over here just like it does there.

What is in the AAI contract in regards to an integration is immaterial. SWAPA's CBA is the controlling document. This is the part that makes who the acquiring party is important! AAI pilots will continue to fly under their CBA until the transition is complete, then they will be "snap", SWAPA pilots flying under our CBA.

Welcome aboard!

If your contract says 18 months from announcement, what happens when it is not done? Doesn't SWA say they have 2 years from the closing?

Sorry, but that's not how it works. Our TA has holding company language, which requires SWA to adhere to the terms of our merger protections after the transaction date. The merger agreement between the two companies also requires SWA to comply with our contract until we're combined and under a single agreement. That means that the 18 month limit is controlling, assuming the TA ratifies.

It's not 18 months from the announcement, it's 18 months from the DOCC.

What Airline are you talking about? SWA does not have a long call reserve. There is an AM and a PM reserve.

I would like to see long call on our next contract.

You are correct in a vacuum, but this is not a vacuum. Your language may have HAD some holding language, I guess you will see when you get your final language. Anyway, you are forgetting all about the transition agreement, which can and will waive items in your CBA as well as ours. Don't forget it's only a small 39 mil for SWA to back out of this deal.

The top Spirit Captain pay in their new contract is $185/HR plus an
international override.

That's more than 20% more than AirTran's present max rate.

Love ya PCL but as soon as those cute brown puppy dog eyes of Gary look your NC in the face it's all over. Besides, not to slam but just for interest sake, what is the "remedy" if they exceed 18 months? Really? Welcome to the airline founded by the lawyer.

When does that $185 kick in? 4-5 years from DOS? And it's 15 yr pay. Looks like Spirit's current top CA pay is also at 15 yr longevity and is roughly the same as our current top 12 yr CA pay...from 2004.

There were guys @ ACA that made a big deal about having $100/hr CRJ CA pay in our last contract there. Too bad it was at DOS + 4 yrs and nobody ever saw that number.
