Skywest is buying the 717s. They will "codeshare" with DL to get around scope, and still cover the 100 seat market.
It's a two way street. Haven't been on the receiving end of any great treatment from the AAI side of the fence. Quite the contrary.
I am truly amazed at the Ill-will being wished upon the pilots at AT. Many of us have been in total support of SW since this deal was announced. To wish us on the street, with no way to support our families is despicable.
I am ashamed of ANY fellow pilot who would wish such a result.
Real people. Are you talking about real people or 'board people' ? If it's real AAI people then I'm disgusted and I apologize.
Just waiting for the announcement.

Should I listen to SWA veteran - CEO of one of the most successful businesses in America, or to some 5 year FO who managed to squeak by the interview process?
If you are referencing my quote you misinterpreted it. The "delicious irony" would be the monumental $hit $torm that would ensue on Flight Info if the 717 pilots of the former AAI were now going to be integrated into DAL.
It would take awile for them all to leave if this happens, and the SLI list will already be done. After you get bumped down Red, you may end up as a junior FO at Delta!
Godspeed!
OYS
You can bet on this....the Delta Pilots would be fair in any integration unlike the Stapler Crew from Dallas......
.
Ty,
Doesn't your fragmentation language say the pilots go with the jets? How would this 717 to Delta scenario play out?
Gup

Nice try Fly,
Airtran is owned by Texas LLC. If the 717 is sold to Delta, so go the pilots.
RF
Integrated ahead of OYS!!!!

Codeshares have to be approved by ALPA. If they would do it, ALPA would be voted off the property. It's almost at that point now.
Godspeed!

saving for posterityWishful thinking all around. So much so, that you'd think it's raining pixie dust.
Wishful for the DAL guys because they want a 100 seater on the property.
Wishful for the SWA because they think it means something for the SLI (hint: corporate merger has already happened...the arbitrator will see any 717 reduction as a SWA corporate action, and not penalize the AT guys for it.)
I seriously doubt the 717s will ever fly for DAL.
