The guy who drove the Dash into the ground was 47.
Well that fits 20's+er, besides 47 is now too old? Wouldn't they have been better off if they had an experienced 67 year old in that seat? Back to the beginning this discussion is just like the age 65 discussions from 7 years ago, it is all about get out of my seat.

What should it be about? All the gratitude I'm supposed to feel for the opportunity to subsidize Grandpa's wife #6 and boat #9? Oh, I forgot, he's just shoring up his ruined retirement. Yeah, right.

I earned my seniority. You can't have it until YOU'VE earned it.

How do you "earn" seniority? By being born earlier? Granted, English is my fourth language, but I was under the impression that the word "earn" implies some kind of effort. Getting old and decrepit takes no effort, we'll all get there.

You clowns keep ASSUMING every old fart Captain has ex-wives, boats. vacation houses, etc. You're all a bunch of idiots.
Do you NOT realize older people have obligations, BIG ones, unlike you BOYS? They have children in college, elderly parents they may be responsible for, etc. etc.
The biggest bill some of you junior clowns have is your beer tab in your crash pad.
GMAFB already. You sound like a bunch of whiny pre-schoolers who are jealous of what "Johnny" has...

I assume no such thing, the old farts make no secret of any of it by gladly sharing pictures of their boars, houses, Harleys etc, so I don't even have to assume.

It's not that I'm jealous of what Johnny has, I just don't appreciate it that he has it at my expense. There IS a difference.

They have pigs, too? No sh!t??!

You "don't appreciate it?" Well I'm sorry, but that's too f'ing bad. Tell you what, Ace. Go to a hospital or a courtroom and bitch and moan with young doctors and lawyers who ALSO have to put their time in to reap the benefits of LIFE EXPERIENCE.

I'm still DYING to know if any of you pussies have the balls to tell a Captain to STFU or shove his pictures up his ass when he starts trying to impress you with his material wealth.

FWIW other countries have no retirement age for domestic flying. I don't agree with that myself but thought I'd put that out there.

I've done it, doesn't take balls. What's he gonna do, have me fired for not going gaga over his crap? And yes, some of them both have pigs and are pigs.

Well, I guess you let the Green-eyed monster show his ugly face. Not that I care, but I wonder if you let your rich Captains buy you a drink on a layover, If you do, you are a hypocrite of the highest order.
Oh, and for the record, I've flown with FOs who are loaded. Granted, most of it is from daddy's money, but they have possessions other people only dream about.

You don't get it. You been arguing this for so long on the majors board you don't even bother to change your argument.

WE DON'T WANT YOUR LEFT SEAT!!!! We want your FO's to have your seat.

I simply want out of the regionals. This was never meant to be a place to sit for 10 years. I would be HAPPY being an FO at a major for the rest of my career. That's good because I'll never see the left seat anyway.

I simply want the same opportunities the generation before me had. The arrogance and selfishness of the baby boomers is ASTOUNDING!

I am positive you didn't stagnate at a regional for the better part of a decade. You probably went straight from military to 121 didn't ya?

I can think of NOTHING I'd rather do than retire at 60. You're wrong

Un-F'ing believable!!!!!
Okay you want out of the regionals. Well maybe you should of thought of that when you took that farm team job at minimum wage. Blows my mind how you people cry foul but happily signed up for a known $hit job.

As for opportunities, WTF????? I want an opportunity to invest in another Microsoft at 1982you just get the chance to ACCEPT the opportunity if/when it arises. No one OWES you a damn thing!!!!!!

Grow up!!!

I don't drink. As for Pepsis, I cover my own, thank you.

I agree. Now, explain to me why I owe Captain Grandpa five (or ten, or twenty) more years.

And it still is.

Other countries are MUCH more sophisticated than the US. They have universal health care, too. Is it a surprise that they don't believe in age discrimination?

Excellent! The best part is that the CRJ is this guy's "career expectation." He's like the HS kid who never made it past the JV team, got cut his Senior year and can't get over it.

For decades you guys benefitted from age 60 mandatory retirement. Then when you get close to 60 you want it changed to benefit you some more. Now that your closing in on 65 you want it extended AGAIN.

When I started in this industry it was with the SAME understanding about age 60 that YOU had when you started. Now you want to change it because you are greedy.

If You REALLY think you are in the right then I can't help you. We will never agree. This is going in circles and I am done.

Again, for the umpteenth time, you play by the rules in force at the time. Are you familiar with the "flying wedge"? It was all the rage in the NFL in 1920.

Then the rules changed.

Age 60 is gone and it isn't coming back. Get over it.

And YOU better not even consider working a day after YOU'RE 60. Because that was the rule when YOU started. And you wouldn't want to be called a hypocrite, do you?

Funny thing is, I can actually respect a greedy bastard who has some integrity about him and just tells me to my face "Yes, I'm going to milk the system a few more years and I don't give a ******************** what that does to you!" I can respect somebody like that, somebody who owns up to his crap and doesn't try to sell me some sob story about his elderly parents and college-aged brats and then expects me to subsidize it to boot. At least I make no secret that I want the left seat and don't drag my parents into it, even though they are in their seventies.

At least I make no secret that I want the left seat .

Finally, the truth comes out. Why don't you just post "Get out of my seat!" and be done with it.

I guess we just found out where the greed and arrogance really is in this conversation. Toss in a dash of immaturity and the picture is complete.
