My guess is, Undaunted Flyer's wife probably ran off with a less selfish, less self-absorbed, more considerate and better endowed Gen X-er.

Now he's sticking it to the entire generation, and bragging about it.
 
This is a good post and one of the most productive seen on FI.

Clearly, LJDRVR is a professional in this business. And he probably even likes flying, likes aviation and his work too. It shows!

I think you are the last person on this board to claim some kind of moral high ground on professionalism. You know how most folks on this board feel about the age 65 law change yet you come back time and time again to run their noses in it. Look, this was a life altering event on the negative side for the majority of pilots and many are upset about it. Things were beginning to settle down until you came back around to post the celebratory party details. Is that professional? I did not think so. Now go have your Mia Tia and ponder the "gayness" of your drinks.
 
That's the point you're missing in this thread, LJDRVR. If you knew Paul Emens (in other words, if you worked at Southwest Airlines) you'd understand that he deserves a bunch of F-You letters.
If he turns anyone in to their CP, then he deserves a lot worse than an "FU letter."
 
The "greatest generation" turned into the "all about me, give me some, ok give me more" generation.

Late to the party...

radar, please don't lump the baby boomers in with the Greatest Generation. Two very different animals (Greatest Generation raised the baby boomers) and the Greatest Generation does deserve the respect that they have earned.
 
I had to retract what I originally wrote....I was afraid the grandpas would come after me since they like to run to their chief pilots like a bunch of babies.

Here's a thought to ponder....which is worse, the rat that runs to the chiefs or the chiefs that are more than happy to dish out the punishment? I know one thing, Southwest Luvs their rats.

That's a great question. UF was all about how much he "loved the job". It wasn't about money - remember??

UAL is hiring. Suck up your colossal ego and go grab a right seat UF. The flying public needs you to protect them from the inexperienced 12-15 year captains at UAL.

Here's another way to look at this. Had I got an e-mail like the one that started this thread...I would look for the individual, and politely ask him if this is going to continue to be a problem. If he answers in the affirmative, then I would let him make the choice as to weather I should take this to Professional Standards or to the Chief Pilot. The choice would be his and his alone.

I have only intiated contact with Professional Standards twice in my career. I don't believe in blind-siding someone, so in both cases, the individual knew the phone call was coming because I let him know what I was going to do.

To send an e-mail like that indicates that "Chris" is a person that really needs help. Hopefully someone will help him realize that.

No you wouldn't...because even with the wrench, there would be consequences...

I don't think the consequences would be as severe as you think. The CP would say "Knock it off. Thank you." This is a moot point anyhow as you are certainly not the huge tool this APAAD guy is so nobody would be writing a letter like this to you.
