Today is the last flight of a great Navy airplane, the F-14. End of an era.
Thank you Tomcat drivers.

One Grumman cat left, Prowler.

There were some F-14's around NAS JAX a few weeks ago, I figured that would be for the last time.

I saw 2 flying around Key West alittle over a week ago. 2 F-14's and 2 F-5's upwind for the big RWY landing north.

The last one leaves tomorrow morning about 10 am. One of my students is a former tomcat RIO. He invited me to go watch. Sad day indeed.

The final F-14 flight is Friday at 10AM at NAS Oceana. I am fortunate enough to be able to attend the Tomcat Sunset Ceremony this weekend. So far all of the events have been great. It's very cool to be in the company of so many true warriors.

I thought at one time the Navy was going to keep several of them operational at PAX river. Not true?
