If they offer you the DC-9, you would be financially better off than trying to live in Japan on first year pay. You also wouldn't have to be worried about being stranded there if you couldn't hold a bid position in the US after 2 years. ABX won't let you "downbid" back to the DC-9, so you would have to be able to hold a Miami or Wilmington 767 bid.Was just looking for some insight out there from those at ABX. Got a call today for a January KIX class or a Febuary ? class of something. What's going on with KIX? Or anything else there for that matter, other than overtime, I taketh, I don't.
so you would have to be able to hold a Miami or Wilmington 767 bid.
Not trying to flame or start a war, but a friend at ATI told me they have been told they are taking over the MIA flying that is now being done by ABX.
2 new hires next week for KIX with 4 more in a couple weeks.
Wouldn't be the first time by a long shot that something came down the pike that we hadn't heard about, but this would be a new one for me, too.
Where all does ABX fly from MIA at the moment? I presume it's done with a 767? Is there a single customer? We did some runs for Tampa a few years back, but it wasn't long term. They seemed to like their own 76s anyway over their own or our DC-8s.
At the same time, if this is any truth to this rumor, is there something else that ABX is picking up that the current MIA lift might be moving to such that ATI (or whoever) would fill in? I hope so!
Could be that were the aircraft for the additional lift to DHL and ANA are coming from, at least short term. Could also be that ATI will be used to expand the business out of MIA. Rumor has it that ABX has (potential) customers they can't service due to a lack of lift/crews.
That is accurate. 2 on the 7th. 4 on the 23rd. All for KIX
