Here is my opinion. The problem here was the BK, and nobody putting up DIP financing except mainline. That gave them control. What to do now? Not much you can do, things are headed downward. The fatigue rules and hiring rules are next. But, there will be big hiring, eventually. Not at DL this year, but maybe AA and UA. Then things will explode hiring wise, and as RJs go away, more and more will be hired to the legacies and better paying jobs. Consolidation will help keep the big 3 stable, and thousands will be hired. For those who want to stay at their regional, that option will be there, but more consolidation will happen there too, and cost pressures will continue to rain down from the legacies. It will be an important choice for many, since they probably expected to move on years ago before they started families, and the choice to start over may be a tough one. Good luck.

Bye Bye---General Lee

and again Jenny, who asked for your opinion! Jenny writing the obvious, over and over, do you just do it to post huh PUTZ!

Actually I did. But it was more about his feelings towards the Comair liquidation.

Any more pay rate info out there? 5yr 12yr 18yr Captain rates with this deal?

The only thing this TA will help is the current PCL pilots who will keep their Jobs.. It Screws the rest of the regional industry with their low ball pay rates.. What a 9% pay rate cut across the board plus your captains that were above 12 years on your 20 year pay scale will be brought down to 12 years and FO's above 4 years are now capped at 4 years! Awesome for the rest of regionals in negotiations first thing we will hear from management is we need a deal cheaper than what PCL has sold out for! I hope for all of our sakes that Donald Lee Moak doesnt sign the POS TA. It is totally unacceptable! THANKS from the rest of the Regional carriers!

Actually, Moake was very instrumental in creating this TA

The thing that hurts us most is that there is a very large surplus of pilots on the street at this time, and many of them will work for these lower wages. It's supply a d demand. If we were like Registered Nurses for example, where there are only about 7 nurses for every 10 jobs, things would be a lot different. Until then, welcome to the suck

Again, where is all the hate towards the pilots of Compass, Gojets, etc? They may have similar rates but when you add up the entire contract they are still far below us.

The only reason they are still well below is because they have only been operating about 6 years. If this TA had all captains capped at 6 years and FOs at 3, we would be cheaper than them. Look at the year by year pay rates... Our MEC is feeding a pile of BS saying we are middle of the pack cost wise... That probably is true but that's because everyone very soon will be topped out on both pay scales, not because we will have a better contract than them.

this thread is about pinocolaba aka PCL....there are plenty of other threads about the other airlines. lets all be honest here, this pcl ta will kill the industry...

Longevity does not come close to telling the whole story. Gojets has 10 days off, 1-2 weeks of vacation max, 1% 401K match, no min day, no cancellation pay, 70 hour reserve guarantee, I would guess their health care is not stellar, 50% deadhead pay, etc

9E has 11 days off min, up to 4 weeks of vacation, 50% match up to 10% (5 times Gojets), min day, cancellation pay, leg by leg guarantee, junior man refusal, 200% pay junior man, reasonable health care, short term and long term disability, 75 hour reserve guarantee (that's about $435 more per month than Gojets min), 75% deadhead pay, etc.

That's just off the top of my head.
