I don't want a paycut or sudden change but sometimes we have no choice.:(

Sure there is, get another job. Heck, get another profession.

I'm not saying a paycut is necessary but we have to be responsible in these times. If a paycut is necessary then so be it. Maybe it is time we learned how to live within our means and survive on 75K per year. That is a lot of cash.

You are obviously not married and don't have kids. Someone out there on FI must have the number...How much are airline salaries down, including inflation, since their 1999/2000 highs? Somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-50%?

The good news is you'll never know.

How many times do I have to tell you...Delta is a last resort for me (and for probably a lot of folks there). I'll only go there if the majors aren't hiring.

Heck...for what a DAL FO makes, maybe I'll just take a job at Starbucks. They get about the same pay, plus better medical, 401K, health plan, and tuition assitance.

Listen guys...

InstructorDude had nothing better to do today than crawl out of his hole and see if he could find the groundhog to admonish him for an extra 7 weeks of winter and therefore the groundhog should take a pay cut due to the extra heating oil required for said predicament.

Having failed at that because the groundhog was at Hooters having lunch...InstructorDude decided to waste our time with his drivel on FI.

I highly doubt he is a Delta pilot or a pilot of any Major airline. He probably got rejected from the Instructor Corps at some non-towered airport out in the middle of nowhere and is now willing to sell his soul to fly Part 135 freight in a Navajo.

One day when/if he sees the groundhog's shadow, he will realize that the rest of us, as Major airline pilots, are not taking any more concessions or workrule changes just to bailout management. Pilots don't chip in for gas.

Management refuses to raise ticket prices.
Management continues to take bonuses.
Therefore Management can deal with these oil prices like every other corporation out there.

LMAO! Like you can get a job at Starbucks! (Hey, at least you have practice from serving coffee to the colonel).
You're barely able to keep your job at McDonalds.

I'm totally gonna call BS on this one. Mgt will come crying and saying they are gonna liquidate. Then the concessions will come with some nonsense about hooking you guys up in the end. I'm putting my money on Delta being the first to capitulate (again).

Then you would lose money.....Again. And on your salary you probably can't afford it.
Us Airways (the old) was the first.
Followed by UAL
Followed by DAL/NWA.
Don't let facts confuse you.

Sorry, I didn't mean for the again part to mean that Delta was origninally the first to give concessions. I just meant that you guys are going to give up money...again. This time you'll be the trend setters though. AMR, UAL, CAL, and US Air are all willing to stick it to their mgt. You guys don't have the guts to.

Blah, blah, blah!
Nice John Kerry approach. Back pedal anyfaster, you might actually trip! Listen to how stupid you sound.

Maybe. But you'll still be on the outside looking in....But at least you have plenty of coffee serving practice for that new job at starbucks!
Cheers,

do you really think you're going to get anything resembling pay restoration? or anything close to what CAL, AA, SWA, etc. are going to get? seriously.

It is nice to see you're so concerned about increasing NWA's pay, though. Maybe you should start with yourself.

Delta guys are bragging about their 1.5% that they got this year....meanwhile, AMR is demanding 53%, UAL telling thier folks to open up section 6 early, and CAL did some picketing this week.

Where was Delta? In the fetal position. As per the norm.

Tanker clown/jerk406:
You're like turrets syndrom looking for a person to happen! Do you ever get tired of arguing with yourself.
Hey jerk:
I guess you're tired of flaming the SWA guys about maint, and the NWA guys about what their bringing to the table at the DL/NW dance.
How about this.
Focus on getting a clue about anything, then get back to us later!

Is it tough to type from the fetal position? Does your managment's footprints show up on the backs of your double breasted blazers?
