Sensitive?? Just hate stupid uninformed posts of the " us against them " mentality. I don't want any carrier doing badly. Guess I am in the minority.
PS. Not a SWA Koolaid drinker. Before we start that route.
Its amazing to me that people are still waiting for the demise of SWA. First the story, over the past so many years, was how SWA would be " welcomed back to the real world " when their hedges run out, now they are welcomed back because they are " losing their arse " on hedges. AA dude, and...
Who knows. It could be quicker after the merger. Or slower. There are no orders of 737's after 2014 because apparently they won't be coming of the assembly line anymore. So what will SWA's new order be after that? Who knows.
How many guys will stay past 61 / 62 / 63 ????
Who knows.
As of...
Its been awefully quiet about UPS on this board. Whats going on? Any word on hiring in 2008....other than the Union message pasted awhile ago saying probably no hiring till late 2008.....????
Rumor on the street is NO MORE hiring at UPS this year because of displacement bids in Oct, Jan and May. Losing many 747 classics and 727's so all those guys wil fill spots open. Any truth to this? Anyone.....
Thanks
Dude,
Besides the fact you would put all your eggs in one basket, you can not look past the fact that many companies would like to see more total time, and, as mentioned above, currency of experience. Throwing boxes for fedex WHILE holding down a respectable flying job would be good. Anything...
Hey MD11,
I interviewed the 10th and took the drug test on the 20th. No official " you are now hired by ups " letter, just the conditional offer in the first call ( 6 days after interview). How about you?
Would like to be able to give current employer ample notice as well.
I know no one wll...
show up to gate or ticket counter, request jumpseat. Don't forgt to bring chocolates for the FA's.
Been treated very well by NWA crews, especially international.
Just doing a little opinion poll for a buddy:
If you were offered a class at SWA and one at UPS starting the same day, which would you go to?
Lucky dude eh!
Doing a little research for a friend:
If you were offered both SWA ad UPS , groundschool starting same day, which would you take??
I know, some people have all the luck.
Hey Toolbox.
Please tell us more about the Singapore job. Sounds pretty good to me!
With an opportunity like that, I would go and then see if you really would want to come back to the US for a job at Fedex or UPS. Those are hard to get into whether you have the time, or the residency ,or not...
Alright.......61 people have viewed this and the only reply I get is from a Polar guy translating minutes into seconds. C'; mon now. Is there a secret club I'm not a member of? No one knows if that stupid window opened? Talk to me.
I'm no SWA koolaid drinker, but from what I understand, the average legs flown per day is 3. Not even the DAL guys are doing 9 legs.
Joining the Majors? Does that word even mean anything anymore? What....file bankruptcy? Unless you're purple, brown, or fly brown airplanes?
I noticed that...
I don't think too many pilots at SWA sing. But their pay is pretty much equal to yours at UPS. Probably with more days off too. Retirement? 8% profit sharing and 7.3% 401 K match............Sounds like retirement to me.
But you're right, the only international is El Paso. That sucks.
