Rumor on the street is NO MORE hiring at UPS this year because of displacement bids in Oct, Jan and May. Losing many 747 classics and 727's so all those guys wil fill spots open. Any truth to this? Anyone.....

Thanks

That is a rumor floating around right now. The training dept. is maxed out right now with pilots switching fleets. Problems with the MD11 sim are not helping matters. There may be some small classes still this year, but only HR knows the answer to this. I personally believe this is just a small pulldown until folks can be trained on new fleets. Hang in there!

We keep hearing that UPS will not be hiring any more in 2008. Many displacements to be trained. Many recent hires going to Alaska.

On another board it was said that Buz T. confirmed this. Who knows.

Actually the statement regarding hiring has been clarified by hr and they stated that no more new hires needed to fill the vacancy since there were enough bodies for that specific realigment to do the job and it has nothing to do with other fleets and they will continue interviewing and hiring.

What is the "vacancy"? Does your statement mean that ANC manning requirements have been met such that new hires beyond this point are for system-wide openings (as opposed to the focus being ANC in recent times)?

I have a buddy who was called last week for an interview third week of November ... seems to me they are still hiring if interviews are being slated so far in advance.

The vacancy bid doesnt fill any ANC MD-11 openings..we still have 8 more of those planes coming soon.

no more hiring is needed. all that is needed are those accepting JA's and opentime.
