Yes, but now at least you have a job offer before ponying up 8g's. That's a much better deal in my estimation. Up until just a few months ago, you couldn't even get an interview without first paying some type rating outfit half a year's salary.
That's correct, but Southwest the past years has ONLY interviewed those with the type. As Lindsey stated in the podcast, it hasn't been a "minimum" requirement, but until just recently only those with 737 types were being interviewed.
It's about time this pay-for-training before you are even...
There's a heated discussion on this over at Airline Pilot Central.
Where are your cajones, FedEXALPA? Dropped them off at your last Philippino layover? :)
If you check the current going rates for the 737 NG you'll see that the Airtran folks are paid lower than any other major airline, ESPECIALLY the first officers. See for yourself www.airlinepilotcentral.com/content/view/149/91/

I agree with pilot877, check out AirlinePilotCentral.com. So far their info is free.
It's not a job site per se, but offers links and general hiring info.
Is AIR Inc. recommended for resume and cover letter help?
I need some help putting mine together but don't want to spend a lot of $$.
Thanks in advance!
Airbus: aesthetically ugly, especially the A300 and A380. Ugliest cockpit windows are found on the Airbus products.
Boeing: sexy lines and sleek form. Pleasing on the eye to look at.
