chperplt,
Seriously, I'm very glad this got resolved satisfactorily. When I read your original post, it just didn't sound right. I'm glad it got fixed for you.
Obviously, my company isn't perfect -- I'll be the first person to admit that. But, you were our customer (even as a...
Recently, a US Airways gate agent told me that I couldn't ride in the flight deck jumpseat because I wasn't dressed in appropriate jumpseat attire.
I had on a new, clean polo shirt, khaki pants, and black leather shoes. The agent seemed to think that I needed a sport coat and tie. That...
Here's the bottom line:
If the OAL CASS pilot got denied the flight deck jumpseat in favor of a JB flight attendant, that was wrong. If this offended pilot contacts his jumpseat coordinator (as he/she should), then the issue will be addressed.
The jumpseat coordinators will confirm...
I'm currently on a 70 day Air Force deployment to Ramstein AB, Germany (yeah, I know, tough duty). Anyway, I may have an opportunity to go on a further deployment to Brazov, Romania for two weeks.
My wife and kids are here with me in Germany, and I want to take them to Romania with me. I found...
I've not done it, but I've heard business attire.
If I recall, I think I actually heard from a co-worker who has done it that they would prefer you NOT wear your uniform. Not 100% sure, but that's what I seem to remember.
Call their 800 number, identify yourself as a potential jumpseater...
I've heard that the Tower controller at PVD got severely reprimanded and got some time off.
Heard it second or third hand, but it wouldn't surprise me -- ignoring the UAL crew admitting that they were lost, then clearing US Air for takeoff!? I gasped the first time I heard that part of the tape.
Another important thing to remember when travelling with kids -- always try to make time for them to do what they like.
As adults, we tend to always try to jam as much into our vacations as possible -- trying to see or do as much as possible.
Even if you are in one of the great cities of the...
A good stroller and car seat (or combination system) is essential. Don't skimp.
There are a thousand specific suggestions I could give you on this subject. But the bottom line is do not keep yourself from travelling just because you have an infant. Just go and figure it out.
I shared a...
Did SWA pilots fly those?
I thought I remember reading that they contracted out that flying for a short time while waiting for some 737 deliveries. Not sure, but that's what I seem to remember...
Didn't SWA sell a 737 early in it's history in order to avoid a loss? I believe that the sale of the aircraft put SWA into the black that year (I forget which year).
SWA has gotten a lot of kudos for that, as demonstrating out of the box thinking.
Is JB's sale of 5 planes much different?
Sorry -- didn't mean to sound so accusatory. Trying (badly) to be sarcastic. I've heard the T-6 is an awesome machine.
It's just that the T-37 is such an icon -- a wonderful airplane that served me well both in UPT and in ACE. I've got a lot of great memories in the Tweet.
I'm sure I learned...
Is it possible?
I need to travel from PHL to MCO on a pretty busy travel day. I know about checking loads and jumpseating on US Airways, Southwest and AirTran.
However, I don't know about USA 3000. Their website says they have scheduled service between these two cities. But, does...
Are you kidding me? LaGuardia may be physically closer, and quicker if you are driving (or having a town car pick you up). But to get from LaGuardia to Manhattan via mass transit? Take the Q10 bus to the 7 train, and 45 minutes later you're in Manhattan (and that's after standing in the rain at...
