I was in a large city in the northeast (name not important) the other day coming home from work and I just could not believe how some of the tsa agents were dressed. One guy looked like he had not washed the shirt in over 6 months. Another one had hair down to his waist. One girl had a large...
just my 2 cents worth but if you have a good job with MEDICAL BENEFITS (which few people on this board mention) for you and your family then maybe you should just keep flying as a dream. Maybe get one of your kids involved at an early age. If you are 33 then you are looking at a minimum of 8...
I have one better for you. I commute out of an airport that my airlines does not serve. There is a security check point at every concourse. (bad design of airport) and the procedure is different at every checkpoint. Bottom line just go with the flow. What ever they want just give it to them. It...
walk through
its not the taking off of the shoes i mind. Its walking through on a wet or snow covered floor that sucks. then having to wear those socks all day long. think about it!!!!!!!!!!!
anybody out there know of any good shoes that wont set off the stupid metal detector? I swear if I have to undress one more time I am going to start wearing sandals to work??
...to make up for it they raise the price of all their tickets to cover the cost of these blood suck ho's. Then lets see how many friends these b@#$*$^ have. P.s. On the way to the courthouse they will probably stop at McDonalds and spill coffee on themselves just in case the race card thing...
I am a Airtran 717 driver. First let me say thanks for the compliment about our employees it is always nice to hear. Next lets address the jumpseat issue. Most of the majors(as well as some of the regionals) have a policy 1 and only 1 jumpseater. We will still take as many people as we have open...
bullets
hey piper, if someone gets into the flightdeck of a 121 airliner I dont think you should be concerned about the 10 9mm rounds he has but the guided missle he now commands. If there are confirmed FAM's on board every flight then I have no problem with them handling any situation (which...
allergy med
try using claritanD. I have allergies and it is on the approved list. I have been putting it down on my 1st med. list for the past ten years and have not had a problem with the feds. ( I am a part 121 driver too)
a relationship is what you put into it. My wife and I have two children and have a very strong marriage. We have our ups and downs like everybody else. Having a set schedual is a major plus. Some of our friends are divorced or seperated and they have nothing to do with aviation. As for family it...
I agree what has been said in the previous threads. The only additional advise I have to you guys just starting out is save as much money as you can now because when you are starting out in your first job (probably as FO at regional carrier) you will be making next to nothing for at least 1...
thanks nedude, as I said i was a capt. there for about 2 years. I am glad to see that things are on the upswing. The "beechball" is one of the best transition planes there are. Good to cut your teeth on. Good luck to all of those who are left.
jumpseat
Dude, I travel a great deal on delta (almost every week) and my advise to you is just go in uniform. I have never seen a gate agent turn away a person for wearing a uniform. I have gotten on airplanes instead of someone else just for that reason. Who cares the uniform are just clothes...
turboprops
yeah i was a 1900 capt myself and loved to blow by the jets on final. But I got to tell you- once you move to a "jet" it will be a move you will ever regret. Good luck to all out there pounding the pavement!!!!!!!!!!!!!
