you take the assessment and hope you pass it. Email within a couple of days with either good news (set up for phone interview) or bad news (thanks for trying)
Other "fees" in training
I hear UAL pays for the uniforms. As a military guy whose employer has "deep pockets," I'm not used to paying for anything. Could someone please shed some light on the following: headsets, pubs bags, overcoat, bus driver hat. Heck, I don't even know what to ask...
tathepilot,
So, what's the purpose of your post? Was it to add to the humor of previous posts on this thread? Would it make you feel better that one of the guys was medically retired and won't walk again? How about the other pilot that has his back so screwed up that he will never fly again...
I think you should carry a GI-Joe or a Transformers Trapper-Keeper, wear a grey suit and yellow tie.
Dude, that's a detail you should not waste anytime worrying about.
Seniority based off SSAN is new. Everything I heard until now was that seniority was randomly generated for new hire classes. The SSAN low to high bodes much better for me.
Has anyone looked at long term rental cars or if there are any used car lots that would sell a jalopy real cheap and...
I spoke w/ Capt Mike Gillen and he is going to ask new hires in a particular class if it is ok to share email addresses so that we/they can contact each other prior to showing up at training. I told him I wouldn't have a problem w/ it.
Anyone looking at the 27 Nov class yet?
UAL has applicant review boards every thursday. My wife received the call from the captain who interviewed me and asked my wife to pass me the message to call her [the captain] about good news. Of course, I called and was given the offer. From what is posted above, it seems the nod is from a...
Called CAL today to see if an earlier training date was available and they put me in the 30 Oct new hire class. DAL and UAL won't have me in training until November. I should have training class offers from those 2 by the time I get back from this trip. I'm on the road right now to lovely...
Apr 07 app Sep 07 interview. Got the official email today w/ a training date of 6 Nov. I could have gone 30 Oct, but I wanted to be home to watch my kids dress up for Halloween.
I interviewed yesterday. No sim prep, but I was typed in the 737 back in July through Crew Pilot Training. The sim was in the morning and the interview was in the afternoon. I could have flown the sim a lot better and I could have flown it a lot worse.
The interview went very well in that...
I heard about the 5 when someone else in the loony boat called AK's office at DAL. She told him that there were 5 people so far. This was as of 2 weeks ago.
Good post on other forum about the process. I don't know if it is true or not.
When I was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, my wife and I flew the DAL 767 flight (I think it was DAL 116/117) between Atlanta and Stuttgart. I always thought the clapping thing was a little funny. I would drive my wife crazy because I would start clapping...in the flare.
There are at least 5, likely more in the boat (including me). The board last met on Sep 7th. If they get enough people, the board could convene within the next 2 weeks. The wait sucks. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Hopefully, my next 2 interviews will be better.
Don't be surprised if they just Google your name and see what comes up. Hopefully, you don't have some stupid myspace page or some crazy photos from college.
I waited about 5 months from app to interview. I received the interview email about a week after I updated my app with an ATP (updated APP on 14 Jul, got email 24 jul) Prior to that, I just had the ATP written.
The gentleman who screens the apps said he literally has to go through thousands...
